  1. Just calmly explain "The more you talk, the more likely I am to kill us both in a painful, firey car crash".

You're the only one of your friends who drives, eh? And the others don't get that it requires concentration?

  2. I was wondering...

I used to smoke crazy things when I was young, I'm just wondering if anyone else did. I quit smoking cigarettes a year and 8 months ago, so perhaps I'm being nostalgic.

Didn't smoke anything crazy but I did drink whole bottles of cough syrup to try and get high off the DXM.

  3. Yeah I think I like so much because it ties in with comtempory debate about the role of the photographer in documentary work.

I like the way Isherwood tends to pontificate about things, then at other points acknowledges he pretends to be more knowlegable than he actually is and hides his inscurity by being pompous.

Plus I think it's fascinating to read about the end of the Weimar republic and rise of Nazism in a book written without the benefit of hindsight.

  4. Christopher Lee skipping

along at the head of the line

in that wig is one of the creepiest images in the original, I'd say!

That and the song Summer is Iccumunin, mainly because I remember singing that song in primary school.

  5. All together now...

In the woods there grew a tree,

And very, very fine tree was he.

    (Tree hand action)

And on that tree there was a limb,

And on that limb there was a branch,

(Little boys pelvic thrust in a disturbing manner)

  6. Judging by the trailers new Wicker Man looks competant but generic. Where as the original was something special.

Anyone else think making the Lord Summerilse character female leaves this film open to very reactionary readings? Espeacially as it looks like film is using sterotypical witchcraft/satanist spooky stuff imagery.

  7. Between 32% (You havent seen much, exept a few injuries and of course on TV. You may have a few problems with yourself and others from here to there, but there is a great chance you wont ever get pushed that far.)

and 51% (You have probably seen death. You watch too many horror flicks, play too much violent videogames, or probably exposed to death by where you live. or maybe you have lots of problems with enemies or have little self-esteem. The factors add up that you need to avoid situations or people that could push you to that point.)

depending on how I interpret the questions.

There really is no room in that quiz for having a morbid imagination is there? Personally I think if can live with destructive impulses and thoughts and not act on them (ie try suicide, end up in jail, enlist) then you're less likely to snap and kill someone.

  8. I really like the new shading style in the Pooka portriat. It adds depth without overwhelming the strength of your line work. Also good balance between detailed areas and empty space.

Is the slightly skewed eyes thing on purpose?

I'd be lying if I said yes. it has more to do with fucking up a tiny bit and not doing a proper pencil outline but instead drawing in ink from the get go :icon_redface:

I think that's a strength, though. The spontenaity and imperfect symetry gives it individuality, the sense of it being a real person. It's just in the setting of the eyes that it gets a little distracting.

  9. It's a movie vastly underrated by many people.

Hear, hear. Mean Girls would have made my favourites list but to cut it down to 12 I've stuck to films I've seen at least five times and still want to rewatch.

    The Wizard of Oz

    Suspiria

    Singin' in the Rain

    Blade Runner

    Tetsuo

    Hairspray

    Hedwig and the Angry Inch

    Videodrome

    Alien

    Vertigo

    The Wickerman

    Casablanca
