They got tired of being reminded that 180,000 > 4, I suspect.

So not to be that guy who returns to the forums solely to promote his stuff, but it's the middle of a pandemic and I figure you all have time to read or something like that.
So...
Crossroad Press has published three of my books. Hag, my debut, and a haunted house story.
I Do Terrible Things, my extreme horror novel that features a gruesome murder every chapter.
Dark Draughts, a collection of my short work with a cover by Steve Bissette.
Available in paper or various ebook formats here:

This is amazing. Issues 1-5 were good fun, but this was that very dark Constantine that I knew and loved (shut up and get off my fekkin' lawn--I'm a homeowner now!) back in the day. Mad and cruel, just like the world.

Soooo, I'm in the middle of reading Bombshells, and it's a quick but entertaining read. Not a lot of John, you can go ten or so issued before he shows up again, and he's always with Zatanna (so far). It's a big anthology series, so your fave characters might not get some love for a while.
John's characterization is OK. Not terrible, but he's not getting a lot to do, either. I wouldn't recommend it if you just want to Constantine, but there's some interesting world-building and revision of the familiar characters of DC.

... I hate that Zatanna's holding back on her power. Afraid the girl's going to show everyone up?

"I want him gritty and hungover."
I have this feeling. Sort of a lightness in my chest? Is that... hope?

I will love this author forever if that's a reptoid.

Well. I was interviewed by Brian Keene for his The Horror Show with Brian Keene podcast. The first half is news, but the second half is an interview with me.

Both of these are limited editions. Thunderstorm books specializes in low print run, high material quality. The first one sold out in a month, and I expect this one will take a couple (since it doesn't have the Brian Keene factor to push it). There were 260 copies of Hag, and only 64 of I Do Terrible Things. Still waiting for a paperbackpblishe to get back to me about Hag, but I'm planning on a less exclusive publisher for Terrible Things.

And they liked working with me enough to publish another one of my books. Holy fuckballs!
Again it's horror, but as you can see from the cover, this one's a bit more violent.

I'll stick my oar in and say that I have no reason to read this any more. I have read the series, and I don't remember anything about the stories. They aren't memorable, which means that aren't interesting. I remember having hte feeling after I have read the comics that nothing ainteresting happened. I'm bored.
I don't hate it. I have no reaction to it. It's a thing I do for about fifteen minutes, and then wonder why I paid money to do such a thing.

While reading this, it occurred to me that I miught be done with the character. Nothing matters. It'll all be wrapped up in a nice little bow at the end. The characterizations are shallow. Nothing interesting is happening.

Swamp doesn';t currently have his own book, right?
He will in early 2016, though. So not as much a crossover as "HEY REMEMBER SWAMP THING EXISTS!"
-
Is it just John's destiny to get the shit end of everything?
Only since the movie.

Argh... oh fuck.
OK here's the card and figure for the revised John. Notice anything... similar? Yep, it's the same figure repainted, with a different color magic zap. AND NICK COSTS MORE POINTS!

Is there anything that lad won't have a go at shagging?
Trenchcoat.
Oh my God he's been recruited into Torchwood.

John has a mental imprint of Nick Necro as like a failsafe in his mind to motivate him that he totally created on his own volition (damn johnny, was it that good?)
It's good to see that other people liked Farscape.

Overall, meh. Not a great plot. No shocks, no great lines.

Still think society will be just peachy knowing that the babysitter fucks other people in animal costumes while dressed like a wolf?
Yep. Most furries aren't into sex play with their suits. And if they are, doesn't bother me at all. Because whatever people get up to, sexually, is none of my damn business assuming full and informed consent. The babysitter could be fucking rabid comic book geeks and it wouldn't bother me.
y'know from that perspective,I should probably let it ride. It's not for me and it would make me think something was off mentally...but then again,I kinda got a bondage fetish and people might think the same thing about myself.Look,as long as it's safe, sane and consensual,do what you want.
but still...does that mean you wanna sex my cat? Cuz I got this really pretty cat...maybe hide the pets then?
No. Really not into interspecies.

I'll adress this soon as September rolls around. I'm still skeptical at the moment.
And Balthy, when has any of John's one night stands ever come back for a 2nd appearance?
As ghosts, sure.
-
What's this from?
Honestly, I think a lot of comics artists don't have much practice drawing non-heroic physiques.
-
Heh. Little Semi-appearance from Gail Simone in the back of Convergence: Wonder Woman

I've read a lot worse. Like virtually everything in the New 52 title. Probably won't be my favorite John, the "I'm No Superhero" is there for people who don't know who he is. I could wish for a touch more subtlety, but this hasn't crushed my hopes of an interesting book.

Just got it. Read it and liked it. The story was pretty simple, but I did enjoy the make friends, be weird, save the world aspect of it all.
