  1. Excellent looking IMHO. I don't understand why he's using a gun though. Is it a symbolic representation of a weapon against evil?

    Thank you.

In my mind, this pic is somehow related to Magic Bullet. In my head I have a little story I'd like to tell and it's got a basic plot. He needs the gun because a bullet made of a particular metal can contain it...but not kill it. The goblin gets his revenge later. I'm not a writer so if it sucks it sucks. Like so many, my first exposure to Constantine was with the movie in which he had a gun in one of the posters. I think that kinda stuck.

  2. Very nice. What's with the gun though?

Oh. It's a precursor to 'Magic Bullet' which I've posted earlier and Jason T colored. I'm not much of a writer so I'm telling the "story" in stages. As I make it up, that is.

It involves Constantine, a goblin, a beautiful woman, and a gun. More specifically, the bullet within the gun.

  3. None that I have readily available to me or that I'd trust to use on a sketch without testing it out thoroughly.

I happen to have photoshop available on a friend's computer but haven't got the gist of it yet and he's misplaced the manual.

  4. Wow! Just... wow.

With a little coloring, that could be the cover to an HB issue.

I'm glad you like it, Josh. I only wished I had even an iota of photoshop knowledge. I'd at least have done the blood in red.

  5. Congratulations nonetheless, Coralys. :D

I saw my first Vegas show today after being here for 5 months. La Reve by Cirque De Sole was very good. It's amazing what people can do with their bodies. Though, I'm not sure what the practical applications would be for being able to sit on your own head. Thoroughly entertaining, indeed.

I also see that Blackmanxxx is 22 today.

...I don't know what to sketch for him

  6. Saw Pan's Labyrinth the other night. I had heard absolutely nothing about the film prior to viewing but saw it with friends who insisted it was good. I must say I was more than pleasantly surprised. I especially appreciate the duality of the film in that you can chose to interpret it in different ways. I definitely recommend it.

The Devil Wears Prada was a moderately entertaining film and, although I loved Meryl Streep's acting, I thought casting her was a bit overkill.

I finished off my weekend with a viewing of 'Wierd Science'...if you ask me Kelly Labrock blows Angelina Jolie out of the water. Gawd Dayum!

  7. Asian, you say. Well I'll have to change that. 4fuzok9.jpg

That font is my handwriting. I'm glad you like it.

I still need to try your technique for rendering liquid (well, what I assumed was liquid...remember that?)

  8. Good luck with that, then.

    Why thank you.

Trace does have the best ideas.

By the way...I was up late the other night and wanted to post this here. But I fell asleep before I could. It's just sitting in my computer so...

See you around, and Merry Christmas.

  9. It all looks great. I agree...I like the last one too. The perspective and the way it tells the story.

I also like the action in all your figures and how they all seem to be doing something...not just sitting pretty. And they all seem to have a certain believable depth and aren't just flat pieces of artwork.

    Kudos.

  10. Thanks guys! :D

    Appropriate for October, Gen?

On Saturday, I woke up to hail in Las Vegas. I’m new to the mainland but I know that’s not normal.

On Sunday, a 6.6 earthquake struck Hawaii.

After finding out that my family was okay, I closed this weird weekend with this drawing late in the evening. Not intentionally. It just happened. I drew John…then added and added. Didn’t bother cleaning it up. For those who don’t know what "vanishing points" are…it’s a technique used to keep buildings in proportion.

There was nothing appropriate about this past October weekend. But I know what you mean. ;)

    Oh, the announcement!

  11. Another time, Gen.

For I still fear the pen.

But I did walk on the wild side with this one. Albeit in the other extreme.

    No eraser nor ruler.

    No vanishing points.

    Abandoned proportions.

    And uneven joints.

    Just John...and company.
