I told you to watch Thunderdome so many times that I better just tell you what this one means.

John's twin sibling, whilst in utero, was perfectly healthy. It was bigger and had a better chance of living than John did. The story (pre issue #100) is that John's umbilical cord strangled his sibling while in the womb, and he died while John lived. So then periodically throughout his life, John would catch gllimpses of what his brother would've been like. John hated him because the "Golden Boy" would've been so perfect and it made John resentful. There is also an excellent Dave McKean-illustrated issue (#40) that is kind of a "What if the Golden Boy would've lived instead of Constantine?" Go read the end of Delano's run. Or just the whole thing.

I remember this thread from when it started. But I just now have something to say. My baby-mama (mother of my child) wanted to name our daughter Harley, after Harley Quinn. I didn't want my daughter named after someone that I had an unhealthy crush on since I was nine years old :icon_redface: . I wanted to name her Ripley, after the character in the Alien movies. Is there not a more bad-ass female character ever? Eventually we settled on Adia (I know she learned it from the Sarah MacLachlin song) but I got my way, as my daughter's middle name is Iommi, after my favorite guitarist in my favorite band.

There is a terrific book about 1987-current comic scene called The Dark Age. It deals with the 'bad' parts of your evaluation of that time period. I have to think on this subject more before I have anything meaningful to add other than pointing to that book.
