Finally read issue 1, and it's such a Hellblazer story that you all should be reading it. Well, that, and the fact that it's a cracking comic.
I reckon Ellie, the old magician's niece, wasn't originally Gemma. I think she was originally Nat, the Glaswegian bouncer from Si's Hellblazer run. Thoughts?

Slade, Wizzard and the Pogues for me. You know — the classics.
And this gem, which speaks to my conflicted feelings toward Christmas... and also makes me think of you lot.

Wonder where this will be popping up.
In "a DC special early next year" says Mr McCrea.

Seeing Jimmy there at the start is just the cherry on top. Such a special Christmas moment.
Merry Christmas to the surviving forumites!

Or go for a holiday in the US. That's a bummer, but Barnes & Noble's setup looks good otherwise.

I figured you'd at least get a comp copy.
It'll be blackly funny if the book that arrives is a leftover with the original cover.
-
You... had to PAY for a copy of the second edition?
-
And yet it's gone to a second edition. I wonder if they shifted all of the first edition, or if they wrote some stock off to allow them to upgrade the cover?

I can't recall how Telos' contracts work. Do they pay royalties? Do they retain publication rights for years?
-
The first two sentences of my review were "Ignore the nonsense on the back cover. Indeed, ignore the front cover."
I notice they've not used that bit.

It might or might not amuse you, Jason, but they've quoted your review from Goodreads (along with Gary McMahon's) on the back cover of the new edition...
What's going on? Are they involving you in the publication of your own book?

Great stuff! Have the stories been published individually elsewhere?

Mr Moore has a new book on the way: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2022/oct/07/watchmen-author-alan-moore-im-definitely-done-with-comics

It's the worst start for a "new" government that I can recall. They're being excoriated in the press.

Christian, where the hell are you? Enquiring minds need to know.

It does seem to be going on forever. I was surprised to learn that Rishi wasn't seen as the natural PM-in-waiting; he seemed to have been portrayed that way in the media, but perhaps they were trying to influence rather than reflect reality.
I bet the unsuccessful candidates are thoroughly sick of it.

This is all very positive, and I'm happy for the people nominated, but the shortlists don't really gel with my opinions. No best new series / best artist nod for Human Target / Greg Smallwood is a dealbreaker for me.
<asshole> Also, Best Crowdfunding Campaign? And what are you supposed to do with the Roll Of Honour section? </asshole>
2022 ? Fuck That!

2020 and 21 were fairly ordinary for me (Australian understatement there), 2022 not so bad — started the year in the north of England on a fantastic holiday, my job was considerably less taxing this year, my lass moved in in July, and I revisited England in September-October.
Cheers to the surviving forum members. Here's to ya in 2023.
