Oglaf is still quietly producing the goods. I get that it's not everyone's cup of tea — very little is — but the art and writing are flawless. The people who create it are at the top of their fields.

Am I alone in this, or did anybody on here go through the books again over Jackson's films?
Kind of. When the first movie was announced, it was clearly a must-see, but I hadn't actually read the trilogy: only The Hobbit. So I went out and bought a slipcased collection. These days I don't really feel the need to own the books, but it doesn't feel quite right to get rid of them.

I s'pose you could say that about re-reading any run.

Interesting to discover that Si wrote for The Bill and Grange Hill.

If any of you fancy reading the winner of the 2015 Nebula award for best novelette, here it is free and legit from the author: A Guide to the Fruits of Hawai’i by Alaya Dawn Johnson.
It has vampires.

There was an article about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in the Times (of London) yesterday that said she faced "accusations from critics that she had overstated the threat to her safety in a video she posted on Instagram" about the Capitol invasion. She said she was terrified because she'd been sexually assaulted in the past.
The ourpouring of bile in the comments section was mind-boggling. I felt like I was reading the Daily Mail. I mean, I don't think everyone has to agree with her politics, but for a man to look at AOC and have hateful thoughts about her is f*cking creepy if you ask me.

Today's Times reported:
QuoteThe QAnon conspiracy community is also turning on ... the mysterious “Q” figure who started the movement online, as adherents voice concerns that the whole thing was an elaborate hoax.
(My emphasis.)
I mean, do you laugh? Do you weep?
