Picked up Dangerous Habits a couple of days ago and, although I have my reservations over Ennis as a writer, loved it. It might turn out to be the only Ennis-authored Hellblazer that I like but it's a worthy, human addition to Constantine's story, I feel. Moving onto Bloodlines now. Any words of warning?
Royal Blood is pretty stupid, but it has its moments. Guys and Dolls is pretty good. Pub where I was born and it's second part are meh.

I just watched the original Gojira, which was a great and depressing take on the nuclear arms race, from the victims' point of view. With Godzilla.
Also saw Dragon War (D-War), which sucked hardcore. And not the kind of sucking hardcore Spain thinks I mean.

There's a thread in the Hellblazer section discussing the novels.
Yeah, but I like my answers the way I like my women: fast and wherever I tell them to be!
No, seriously, though, I need to read a lot on this board...I'm out of the proverbial loop.

I'm reading War Lord by John Shirley. I...don't think he got Constantine right. Or rather, it seems he's writing an exageration of Constantine. Anyone know if Subterranean was better?
Oh, I'm also reading a book of translated Pyramid texts (and commentary)by E.A. Budge. It's dry but interesting, and he often included the hieroglyphs that he translated.

I haven't been arounfd much, so here are the CDs I've gotten in the last several months:
John Vanderslice-Pixel Revolt
John Vanderslice-Emerald City
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds-Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!
The Microphones-The Glow Pt. 2
Robyn Hitchcock-Shadowcat (sadly. NOT an x-men reference)
Mates of State-Bring it Back
These are all good. Go buy them.
Also, the otter got me Belle and Sebastian-Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like a Peasant on LP.

Jason woke up. Cold wind blowing against the shaking windows. He picked up the book The Road by Cormac McCarthy and he thinks it is good but hates the lack of commas. Also the fragments. Articles saying that there is a reason for all this. No one will say why. Jason says to the otter The lack of punctuation is pretentious. I hadnt noticed she said I'm just enjoying the characters journey. Somewhere a cat explodes spraying blood and gore onto someones hair. Despair.

I dreamt last night that I was at a smokey, middle-ages style tavern with the otter, and Christian met us there. We discussed ways to overthrow the government.

I think The Comedian looks cool, faithful to Dave Gibbons' rendering (will we see him in a yellow satin jumpsuit though!)
I read in an interview with Zack Snyder that they wanted to make Nite Owl look more contemporary and less over-the-top with the feathers etc although he did acknowledge that fanboys might be a bit pissed off.
(I know Nite Owl was meant to be more of a Blue Beetle analogue, but there was certainly a nod to Batman too -independently wealthy enough to make all his "toys", and his cellar is clearly a Batcave with all the equipment and the secret tunnels etc).
Snyder also said they were looking for a more Egyptian look for Ozymandias (his original uniform was a bit more Greek in style, it was argued) so I guess that accounts for the change there. Still, I like it.
Rorschach looks just like the book, which is pleasing to see, and can't really tell much from The Silk Spectre, but there was nothing special about her costume anyway IMO.
Would've been great to see Dr Manhattan, but I understand he'll be CGI-motion capture, so I'd imagine it'll be a shiny blue guy with Action-Man style groin area to get round the fact that he prefers to spend most of his time naked.
I wish that Ozy's costume wasn't so dark. It screams "bad guy", shich it shouldn't. And Spectre looks like she's going to Nerd Prom.

They had to interview 5 or 6 other people and they were going call my last employer and maybe some other things.
What else are they going to call?

Besides the incredibly annoying introductory essay....written after Steinbeck's death, after his turn to the Right,
I HATE it when liberals die and then become conservative!

As for myself, I had an experience of a type that I'm not used to.
A young woman was looking at me at the bus stop a lot, and got on the bus so that she sat directly in front of me. She turned back in my direction and looked at me a number of times again. After not looking at me for a short time, she started a conversation with me. We got off at the train station, and after we both sorted out our tickets in different parts of the station she dawdled just a little so I could catch up to her, and we started talking again, and after I asked her permission, I sat down with her on the train. (She agreed to have me sit next to her even after I told her I had a bug including a mild fever.) And we sat and talked for the length of her journey.
I'm not used to this from women, much at all.
As it happened, we really didn't hit it off, but it was cool that it went as far as it did.
Let's start the "Josh is a stud" thread!

I wrote a script for a cartoon!
(This means that I am a professional writer!)

Oh, and I totally shaved the boys. :)
That totally sounds dirty.

I'm "reading" several books, but not really. It's been so crazy at work these last two weeks that I go home and veg out infront of the XBOX.
However, I'm in the middle of One Hundred years of Solitude, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, as well as a book on lucid dreaming, by some guy whose name escapes me, but his last name might be DeBarge.
I'm about to read Writing for Animation by Jeffrey Scott.

I saw my friend's band, The Ne'er Do Evers, on Friday. They are awesome live, so if you're from New York, watch out for them. (They were playing in Cleveland, which is rare for them). Click on the link, listen to the musis, yadda yadda.

Hey all...I've been gone for a little while, but last week my creditors (well, one of them), started threatening me for passing bad checks. Cool, except that I have never written them a bad check! Turns out, it was a clerical error, but they didn't need to threaten to but me in prison!
Also, on thursday, a bomb threat was called into my school. It was a hoax, but still, a pretty exciting time.

WOO YAH BOYEE!! Took the drivers test and failed it like a real man. Awesome. Now I gotta take it again next month and this time I'll do it the in the afternoon when I've had food in my stomach and have been awake for most of the day.
I failed the first time I took it. I was 24 when I eventually passed it.

Ah ha! It seems I have my first paying writing gig! Won't go into details, but it is a script for children, it's to be about 5 minutes long, and ninjas are involved.

So next week on Thursday I'll be taking my drivers license test. I'm pretty damn sure I'll pass it. Seeing has how it's going to be in a small town with no stop signs or street lights and at like 9 am in the morning. I've also driven around that town before so I'll probably just head down there really early and drive around for a bit and get some more practice and then take the test.
Good luck!
