So, I recently read two (actually three) books:
Chuck Palahniuk's "Diary", which was fascinating, and pretty quirky. The main plot was fascinating enough, although I didn't really go for the "solution" to it all. All the comments about art were interesting, and his writing style is interesting, if a bit restricted. Any of you read any of him?
Steven Erikson's "Gardens of the moon" and "Deadhouse gates", the first two in the "Malazan book of the fallen" series. This is pretty good fanrasy, with an intricate plot, believable characters, a very diverse world (huge!). The only real letdown is the lack of "good guys". the only ones you can sympathise with are the main charcters' personal struggles, while all the "collectives" in the books (countries, empires, sects, cults, cabals etc etc) are horrible bloodthirsty bastards, by and large. All in all his bleak view of "human" nature is down-putting in the end.

Come on...what about 'Abbey Road'? I'm not even a Beatles fan and I can see that it's a fantastic album. 'Let It Be' is a pitiful abortion of a record, but 'Abbey Road' really works for me as the true finale to the Beatles' career - and it does them justice. The solo works are, to be generous, piss-poor by and large, but each of the three 'creative' Beatles (Ringo gets disqualified for shoving) came up with at least a couple of good songs - there just aren't enough by any of them to justify buying any of their solo albums, in my book.
Heathen.
PMcC's "Ram", "Pipes of peace" and "Tug of war" are really good records. Very very very few pop artists working today have as many good songs on one album as he has on each of those three.

Bwahahaha.
John has unknown sides, then...

Just when I think you've gone as far as possible, new depths of creepiness emerge. Nice! <_<

What....who are you, and why are my hands glued to this keyboard?
Where is this?

So you're an auto-dactylic fellatio-fetishist, then Keeyah?

Oh come on Red, you know you would like to be used roughly.
Am I THAT transparent, then...?

But you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart
But you are not alone
'Lone, 'lone
Why, 'lone
Just the other night
I thought I heard you cry
Asking me to come
And hold you in my arms
I can hear your prayers
Your burdens I will bear
But first I need your hand
Then forever can begin
Everyday I sit and ask myself
How did love slip away
Something whispers in my ear and says
That you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay
For you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart
For you are not alone

Red, did you know A-Ha's "Living a Boy's Adventure Tale" was my theme song for many years when I was a lad?
Of COURSE I knew, silly. I know EVERYTHING about you. B)
(That said, you could have chosen a better A-ha song!)

Not at all, Jim ;) But I think it's cool to apologize if you think you've actually hurt someone's feelings.

To paraphrase a certain welshman:
"Piece of shit piece of shit piece of shiiiiit. Piece of shit piece of shit piece of shiiiiit."

At the risk of getting dragged into a discussion I probably don't want to have:
by what criteria is he a crap presenter, James? Apart from the fact that he gets on your tits.
Fondling James' tits is all I need to denounce the guy... :D

Go down in flames, bitch! (O'Reilly, that is)

Adrian Brown's Unofficial Hellblazer Album.
I was thinking about the STH Forum album a few weeks back - I think everyone should recomment one song as Charlie suggested but it has to be an original track by someone(s) from their own country.
OK then... I'll switch to A-ha: Manhattan skyline

That pentacle story reminds me of a stag party we arranged for one of my mates....but it's a really long story, so I'll have to mention it later.

Oh, it's deserved, mate! Have you ever considered adding vocals?
