  1. I loved the Halloween episode of Castle especially the costumes, it was great to see him dressed as Mal Reynolds again and I liked that Esposito was dressed as a US Marine from Generation Kill and I guess that the actor that plays Ryan had played a doctor in another show if they were going with that theme as an in-joke.

I'm slowly starting to appreciate Stargate Universe, it is slow moving and is really quite different to the previous Stargate shows as it is more character led than plot led. Robert Carlyle is also brilliant as Nicholas Rush, initially I thought he was wasted in this but the more I watch the more I think that it was a clever choice for him to take this part.

  2. Loving Dexter, it is back to top form again and I think John Lithgow always makes an excellent psycho as well as amiable family man. Arthur Mitchell is like a cross between him in Raising Cain and Bigfoot and the Hendersons.

I have hopes for this new season of Friday Night Lights, it's good that unlike many dramas set in high school that because the Taylor family are pretty much the principal characters and he has essentially a new team to coach it doesn't suffer from the old problem of what to do when people have graduated and gone off to college.

Another show I'm enjoying at the moment is Castle, I think Nathan Fillion is watchable in pretty much anything and he's got great chemistry with all the rest of the cast. It's lightweight but I think a lot of fun.

  3. Movember has much to answer for.

    :)

I could shave mine off for charity?. Shave it off now and grow it back this month?. Does that count?.

That's what I'm doing. I'm not sure if the rules dictate that I'm not allowed to trim or if I have to grow it for the whole month.

  4. To be brief I've been unemployed the past few weeks having been made redundant at the cinema. But not to worry I got a nice little payoff and it will in the long run be I'm sure the best thing that could have happened to me.

It's given me a lot more time to get on with a number of projects that have been languishing and time to study to become a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and take the part of my job at the cinema that was keeping the computer network running etc. to a more professional level.

  5. I think most rational people agree that it's a good thing that World War II didn't last 10 years more.

I agree. I just linked to the article because I thought the idea of someone fighting in WWII with a claymore was amusing.

Oh totally. He sounds like he was an awesome character, but no doubt he must have been a little crazy.

  6. And yes, they are nice. Nice, and crazy. Like Jack Churchill!

As the Pacific War was still ongoing Churchill was sent to Burma, where the largest land battles against Japan were still raging, but by the time he reached India, Hiroshima and Nagasaki had been bombed, and the war abruptly ended. Churchill was said to be unhappy with the abrupt end of the war, saying it could have lasted ten more years if the Americans hadn't intervened

  7. Women mate. Who knows what goes on the heads of those wonderful enigmatic beings? What makes them attracted to us blokes I'll never really figure out, I just tend to go with the flow when I figure out that one of them has fallen for me.

  8. Different airline from the one I flew with, but the same make of plane. Two Aussies were in the plane with me, but INITIALLY unaware of the day befores' drama. I did my duty by them, so they had three or four minutes to imagine it happening to us too.

    You excellent bastard. :boogie:
