Lately I've been a bunch of novels by Harlan Coben and Michael Connelly. Just started Connelly's Brass Verdict, which I should have read before reading The Reversal which I've just finished.
In other reading I'm studying for Microsft certification so have read MCTS Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration Study Guide: Exam 70-640 by William Panek, James Chellis

Congrats Lou, that looks to be an awesome prize. Ade is a very generous bloke.

Happy to hear that Claire and Meaner are fine. Like Red my first thought on hearing about the quake was about you guys.

Definitely take the job Kate, you can't turn opportunities like this down.

She is named Amy and yes Beki I have always liked a girl with short hair and this one is perfect for me in so many other ways too.

Saw and was impressed by Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World even though I'd seen the trailer this wasn't quite what I was expecting, much stranger and funnier than I thought it would be.

In my ongoing quest to get pieces of paper to prove that I know the shit I know about IT so as to improve my career prospects I am now a Microsoft Technology Specialist.

Very cool picture Dave.

In the few seconds before the image burnt out my retinas I thought yeah that's much more Mark-like.

Congrats Tony. I may have to undergo some kinda similar regime as I think I've got myself a bit of a gut since becoming unemployed as I used to walk to work and I'm now eating more sugary things.
-
It is true that you don't look quite yourself, but you do look much more conventional and therefore employable now Mark. Good luck with the job search.
-
Well there will definitely be more episodes from this lot, but I think they were referring to the fact that Sherlock Holmes is one of the most filmed characters in history so there will always be yet another version a few years down the line.

Thanks, and if you're right about the beard thing that might explain why it took me so long to find someone willing to give me a job.
-
Thanks guys and good luck with finding yourself a permanent job Mark.
It is an unbelievable relief to be in work again and now I can start treating my girlfriend to nice things as she has been an enormous help this past year.

I was at the point of "any port in a storm", but as it turns out this is a good job.
It is less money than I was on in my previous job but I look at it as being a lot more than my benefits so I'm pleased and there is greater scope for career progression with this job than my last.

I have accepted a job offer to become an ICT Officer so barring failing the medical or some other unlikely event I will be employed soon after having been out of work since my redundancy in October last year.

Hear an Excerpt From Alan Moore's Unearthing

Went and saw Inception. I liked it a lot, Mr DiCaprio seems a much better actor now he is older. I actually found myself enjoying looking at his face act, where normally I want to stab out his eyes. ( Probably that was jealousy because he used to be so good looking. Now he looks far less so )
I don't think he is neccesarily a better actor becuase pre-Titanic I thought he was an excellent young actor. But I think he has finally matured in his looks and can better portray the characters of the roles he's been given.
Mr Watanabe got a chuckle out of the Auckland audience at least with his [ Spoiler : "I brought the airline. It seemed, neater" ] line. It is fairly hard to make Aucklanders display emotion like that, in public, so ten points for him.I loved that line.

So it might be worth a look even if Shoot is sub-par. Although I've probably got all the various anthology books Vertigo put out then so I'll have copies of the stories somewhere.

It just happens to be the first story in Shadows over Baker Street and it is indeed enormously worth reading

Top 10 Shark Attack Videos
http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/top-10-shark-attack-videos/
Amazing and terrifying.

Episode two was less good than the first, but I still found it enjoyable. And for those that aren't enjoying it, like the producers said there'll be another adaptation made by someone else in a year or two.
I'm quite into Sherlock Holmes in settings other than his usual at the moment as I'm back into reading the book Shadows over Baker Street which places the characters into Lovecraftian mysteries.

My girlfriend showed that to me at the weekend. Loads of neat little cameos and that Slave Leia is gorgeous!
