I did promise I include him along side Halle Berry, Josh Brolin, Gabriel Macht, and (now just thinking up) Sean Connery in the adaptations gone wrong banner/wallpaper

It would be a disaster for Constantine to go up against How to Get Away with Murder, that show pretty much killed it with the ratings it got.
Its disterous enough with our boy going up against the likes of Tom Sellick in Blue Bloods and a ABC News show which hasn't been at all relevant since Barbara Walters buggered off.
-
I know this is off topic, but does anyone know anything about the Big Finish audios of Sapphire and Steel?
Yo!
I've heard all 13 releases and they're pretty damn fantastic
-
Audio drama? Do they still exist? I thought it was a big thing in the thirties and forties, with The Shadow and War of the Worlds on the radio.
I am checking their webpage now. 35 euros for the first Dark Eyes. How is it more expensive than a dvd? How long are these audio dramas? Previous releases are like 9 euros which is somehow more affordable, but really, paint me shocked.
I know the digital copy prices differ from the physical CDs

honestly, thursday night before the news hour seems like the best night, or sunday at the same time, which is 9:00 here in ye olde central standard time zone.
I've been saying for several weeks the show should take up the Thursday slot once Parenthood offically airs its final episode though this means going up against the 3rd half of ABC's Shonda-Land) (I.e. How to Get Away with Murder w/ our newly casted Amanda Waller in Viola Davis)

Definitely a new coat!

Was it Constantine that sparked your interest in US TV ratings Chas or is this just a crossing of traveled paths ?
Mixture of both. I was first ratings conscious with Birds of Prey the 12 years before
-
Yup.but we agree that they also need to step up the writing, don't we?Well yes, plenty of room for improvement but if you don't give them time...
Look, you stick something on at 9 o'clock on a Friday night, you can't be surprised that it gets shit ratings and struggles to build an audience. Why put any kind of original drama in that slot ? Just stick on any old shit repeat, it'll get in or around the same numbers.
Had all four networks not reduced Saturdays to a repeat/Dateline/Disney wasteland, they should revamp that night for better viewership. As mentioned elsewhere, more folks are indoors on a Saturday night than a Friday when they normally go out

Wolvy's translation is spot on, though.

And getting more comfortable in their skin in doing stories that doesn't always rely on Magic.

wasn't it heathen who thpought that the spectre could do swampys part?
Can't see how but with 1x13 retooled as the season finale, anything goes

What is that forecast based on?
Most people who watch primetime TV are more likley to watch during the 8pm hour followed by the 9pm slots than 10pm. Our boy got luck maintaining 3Mil+ with the L+3 without dipping to under 3M the way Dracula's overnights did.
-
In light of the time slot change, I have forecasted two possible scenarios between 01/16 and 02/13:
Scenario #1-
1x09: 4.2M (1.3) w/ 5.9-6M (1.9) even in L+3
1x10: 4.0M (1.1) w/ 6.1M (2.0) in L+3
1x11: 3.98M - 4.15M (1.0) w/ 5.7M (1.8) in L+3
1x12: 4.3M (1.2) w/ 6.2M (2.5)in L+3
1x13: 4.75M (1.3) w/ 6.8M (2.7)in L+3
Scenario #2:
1x09: 3.70M (1.0); 5.6m (1.6)in L+3
1x10: 3.97M - 4.05M (1.1) w/ 5.7M (1.6) in L+3
1x11: 4.18M (1.0); 5.9M (1.8) in L+3
1x12: 4.39M (1.2); 6M (1.9) even in L+3
1x13: 4.67M (1.4); 6.5M (2.4) in L+3
I'll be shocked as hell if neither scenario plays out or astonished if one of them come to fruition.

So why wasn't it on last night? holidaYS?
Part Two' not til January 16th
-
In the long run, we got two scenarios to bare in mind. 1) The five weeks between 01/16 through 02/13* may see the numbers go from the 3M+ to 4.0-5.0 Million tops with the 18-49 demo being bouncing between 1.1-1.5 tops. 2) would be doing 4-4.5M w/ 1.0-1.3 tops but still manages to perform well to where it can get season 2 on lock by the time NBC makes the official decision between March and April.
Plus 8pm as a "Family Viewing hour" ceased being that the moment a circuit court judge null and voided the FCC's 1974 mandate post Born Innocent (aka the one where Linda Blair gets sodomized with a broom handle in an all girls prison).
*Ep. 13 on a Friday the 13th. Oh, the irony!

More support despite TVByTheNumbers' hellbent quest to be right about a flimsy prediction.Maybe I'm uniformed on TV time slots....but why is this a good thing? Isn't a later time slot better for a show with more mature elements? Does that mean they'll tone it down? Or does this signify NBC is giving it more support?
Plus it'll give our boy a fighting chance against rival shows and Dateline can cut Blue Bloods and 20/20 at the knees in the oldies viewers grab
-
Great scot!!
So, NBC have taken the timeslot change into consideration after all. That explains why Dateline was shown at 10pm last night
-
Shit! I wish him a speedy recovery

By the way, Demon Chas, have you recently received anything in the international post?
Just did yesterday and man did I hit the jackpot! Started my CM: Suspect Behavior marathon this morning and got the CD well pumping on the way to work while reading up on Electricomics

I've finally got round to putting this up there, Chas, and it probably needs some work.
If you have the original file in an easy to manipulate format, the background would be better a smokey bluey grey (especially around Matt Ryan's head). And a bit of what Rogan said.
You can make the image twice as long, maybe add in a couple of Johns and overlay the Constantines a bit less, too. As if they are in an identity parade rather than a procession.
As a personal favour could you put this one in there?
That, I shall.
For the forcoming new one, in order of appearance
Bissete
McKean
Ridgway
Williams
Fabry
Simpson
Dillon
Phillips
Bradstreet
Higgins
Frusin
Manco
Bermejo
Jock
Camuncoli
Bisley
Matt Ryan
Might be fair to throw in a surprise appearance by Keanu, somewhere around Frusin/Manco?
Nah. Keanu's reserve for the Flops of the '00s banner along side Halle Berry, Gabriel Macht, Josh Brolin, and Ryan Reynolds.

Decent streak of episodes continues apace,
The lass playing Anne Marie may have been a little on the young side but she held her own well against John, as in the comics it's always good seeing Constantine being put in his place, or at least being confronted with the flaws in his character.
That human fruit garden was proper creepy
Constantine straight up shiving a supernatural threat and Zed kicking the shit out of her would-be abductor, lovely.
The Invunche was alright, bit Silent Hill but I'll allow it.
"Did you piss off a gypsy mate ?"
Ah come on now lads, leave off the travelling folk for like five minutes!
Yeah. Keep that up and we'll have to come up with a gypsy jar for every time their brought up.

Illegal means..
Still, David Warner's bad ass as Steel and Susanna Harker's Sapphire's equal to Joanna Lumley's. Silver back (yay!) And the audios introduces Mark Gatiss' Gold and Lisa Bowerman's Ruby.
