  1. Didn't Ray Winstone play the beefy dude with the axe in King Arthur?

Sean Pertwee looks like a nice choice too for a current Chas, by that I mean his age... because Manco draws them younger and good looking. Never seen his films or TV stuff.

  2. I thought she took her Razzie Award very well and her acceptance shows she's willing to look back at her films and agree she made some bad choices but won't let said choices be the end of her career. Can't say the same for everyone in Alexander.

  3. From a storytelling perspective both are somewhat easy (and I hesistate to use the word cliché) choices, the same way people like to depict absinthe as green and hallucinatory or show someone using a gun for the first time without any concept of recoil. I guess that might be why some might believe it wasn't John who was fighting, to make the scene more believable to them and not just have it be a mistake on Carey's part.

  4. I still say James Marsters should have got a crack at John .

As in... Spike? After seeing him play Spike I don't think I could ever take him playing John Constantine seriously... but I'd love to see John meet Spike.

    The Trenchcoat Brigade?

Eating my own bandwidth for this so obviously it can't possibly be Kiefer bashing, right? He's not bad, he's just made some... bad choices.

  5. I loved Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. I never saw the original cartoon but the movie became a favorite of mine after my first viewing in the theaters. The relationship between Jo and Polly was refreshing, I fell in love with those characters even though the movie took a risk by establishing them in the middle of a lovers' tiff. I just wish Bai Ling had had more to do in the movie.

  6. London has been discussed seriously and there is even an idea that Keanu's conjob is actually from Liverpool, as in the book.

What's your source? I definitely wouldn't mind seeing a sequel even if the film is terrible because terrible comic-to-film movies haven't really hurt a readership before I don't think. Ah well, I'm going to try and find out some more info about a Constantine sequel at SDCC05. I still wish they'd done Chas some justice.

  7. I love the Rammstein song "Heirachte Mich" on the Lost Highway soundtrack, I keep that CD in my car at all times.

Jason, do you have any Chemical Brothers CDs? You might like "Let Forever Be" which is slightly more fast-pace than "Where do I begin" but it has the same feel to it. I also think you might like "The Test" which is fast as well but in a good way.

  8. Sean Bean. That's all. He's the coolest. Loved him as sharp. He should play Constantine in some British tv movie about him maybe...

Are you kidding me? The producers would never let him have the role, they'd probably sign him up as another greasy British bad guy though and give John the Walther PPK. Poor Sean Bean...

  9. That's the problem with Ennis - his humour is broadly the same regardless of which comic/character he actually happens to be writing at the time.

Now that you've mentioned it I do see similarities in the delivery of his comedy.... I laughed a whole lot more over the Kev minis than Son of Man though heh. I don't follow Punisher but I've seen artwork for it and I do recall an Irish pub.

    Ah-HAH!  On IBC, right?

Ah, memories...I lived over there from '94-'97...how about you?

What the hell? YES! IBC 2 and 3 or something haha. I lived there from '90-'95 and went to Ruamrudee
