  1. In the last two weeks, EW's given positive reviews to Epileptic and Persepolis. I certainly didn't notice any bias in favor of Gaiman, but may have missed some.

A few years back I remember seeing Gaiman, Gaiman, Moore, Gaiman, Gaiman, Moore. At some point I think I saw Age of Bronze get a mention in EW, was in an article about the film industry's infatuation with Greece.

  2. I was stuck between Manco and Bradstreet. I like Phillip's artwork but sometimes the expressions on his characters look... contorted I guess is the word. I second the opinion that Bradstreet draws delicious backs and his John also doesn't look like he's fifty but ultimately my vote for Manco was based on taste. Manco John has a narrowed look that I fancy.

  3. "WUWF"..... first time I heard it mentioned that way heh, but it's also the one song I thought would redeem Gwen Stefani for me... sadly it didn't because she brought the Harajuku girls into the mess. She's trying to cash in on the Japan-is-the-best trend that's going around recently what with the popularization of anime in mainstream culture, especially music videos. She decided to go one step further and dip her hand into harajuku culture.... which has been dead in Japan for a few years now.

  4. Is there anything special about the single itself? I already have the album so I guess having the single for the song wouldn't do me any good. Maybe they put a Keanutine remix on it? I feel like APC is going in the same direction as TOOL, really good when they first started making music and falling into "I've heard this before." territory. Love the soundtrack for The Crow though and especially "Burn" but also "Color Me Once" by those Femmes.

  5. I'm a Revolution fan too and have been following The Authority since Ellis was writing it. I was sort of expecting the identity of the hooded figure, I guess that part was predictable, but I love the confrontation between Jack and Midnighter. I haven't been able to wrap my mind around Future Apollo vs. Future Jenny Quantum yet but I want to believe that Apollo is the one who has been right all along, and that's only because I like him. Brubaker's take on the series has been keeping me interested so far but what Mystery Man in the Hood does in #6 might make or break that.... By the way I love Jeroen, he's the most whiney of all The Authority but when he decides to whip out the big guns he's pretty frightening. That's what I like about him, a coward and cunning at the same time, even if he's the former more often than the latter.

  6. I'll bite.

People who stereotype comic fans who dress up as comic characters at Comic Con depresses me. Some of those fans spend a lot of time working on their costume only to get called the freaks of the fan community. Hum, oh well not like I care, I'm sewing a Slag prop together for my costume at Comic Con anyway bwahah.

  7. I did a forum search on this and it turned up only one irrelevant result so I hope I'm not bringing something up that's already been answered....

When John and Chas arrive at 1247 Enstrom BLVD, Chas asks John if that's where "wossis" used to live but John mentions that that was somewhere else. Can someone tell me the inside joke here? I'm from Los Angeles and I couldn't figure it out myself. So who/what are John and Chas referring to?

By the way, loved All His Engines. Manco is one of my most favorite artists for Hellblazer so far, but I also like how Tim Bradstreet is still doing the covers.
