  1. If Chaykin was writing, I'd be excited.

He's had some really bad misses of late, but you know you're in for some Communist goodness when Chaykin is scripting!

I've never been a big fan of his art (naked women having sex, anyone?!), and Walt Simonson's writing makes me feel like it's 1977 all over again!

  2. You mean, you aren't now?!

"Why, do you want to be more pedantic? Women dont like a man to be TOO pedantic you know......just pedantic enough, thats how I like em. "

She likes me, she really likes me  !

  3. "How often do you leave the house to go anywhere?"

I'm pretty well a shut-in. The people don't want me out there, and I don't want any part of them! I've been taking lessons in the Dave Sim's "How to Screw Up Your Life and Lose Your Mind Without Being Psychotic" methodology.

Pretty soon everyone on the Forums will have the joy of reading my 10,000 page Manifesto on women, God, and what's wrong with the Liberal world!

I just wish I had a cabin in the middle of the Arctic wilderness too.....

  4. No, I very highly doubt that. Nader would have attempted any and all diplomatic resolutions and considering the back-story of negotiations attempt by the Taliban before the invasion, I'm sure there would've been no need for an invasion.

Clinton is highly liked by many Liberal people in America, for some reason. He's thought of as a highly Liberal president, which makes me wonder if they're using the U.S. definition or the Economic definition. They claim he brought unbridled prosperity to America, for everyone from the rich to the poorer, and kept America out of any wars. I wonder what Presidential term they lived under!

I agree with Red totally here, but yes, I think we can all safely say that Clinton is a lesser of two evils, if we want to take that route.

"No, but the invasion of Iraq is a pretty big deal, don't you think? "

I steal Red's reply and once again state, "He invaded SERBIA, ferchrissakes!"

  5. I widely read writers who are of Jewish background, raised Jewish, who have turned their back on their faith, and I believe their comments on the situation are the most telling.

The feeling is quite strong amongst them that the racist currents running through Israeli society, Zionism, and even into Jewish culture is because of a feeling that the Jewish people are owed for everything they've suffered through the years and their policy of "Never again". They almost invaribly take the same stance as you, Kinki.

Jewish people are still quite persecuted around the world today, yes, but a large portion of this resentment is caused by the Israeli/Palestinian question.

We are in a situation now where Israel is supported by the most militarily powerful and one of the most economically powerful countries. The situation has greatly reversed from the situation before the Six-Days War (the situation had reversed at the point where the U.S. & Soviet Union both recognized Israel as a soverign nation, but the S.D.W. is a good cut off point, I guess). Granted, America would drop Israel in a second the minute Israel became a detriment to U.S. aims, but for the forseeable future Israel is a huge advantage for U.S. policy.

Defending oneself against invading neighboring countries is one matter of self-defense, but to deny a population rights who are living within the boundaries of that own country is not self-defense.

Also saying things like "The Palestinians might be suffering, but it's nothing like the Jews suffered in the past" is quite daft and changing the questions to make the victims look like victimizers. Israel has all the power, regardless of how many political pundits cry about "The Peace Process, The Peace Process!".

  6. I'm not a music geek, and I have quite a few "Best Of" CDs, but what I usually notice is that a ton of "Best Of" CDs are quite lacking. They have a few good songs, and then the rest of the CD sounds like filler, and when you think back over other songs you like by the band, you'll usually end up going "Why the bloody hell is THAT song on there but THIS BRILLIANT SONG isn't?!"

  7. Yeah...umm, they already did this.

Man, superhero comics are looking more and more like the early-90s every day. Hell, we've even got Peter David writing "X-Factor" as the calm amidst a sea of insanity!

I find something incredibly funny at the thought of Iron Man sitting home making a suit for his new best buddy Spider Man.

"Gee, I hope he likes this...I worked really hard on it..."

  8. Who would I side with?!

You know I'd fucking BE Magneto!

Except, he'd be fighting for class equality for all people, instead of just mutants, but anyone who didn't agree with my philosophy, you know I'd be shutting off the blood flood to their brains!

  9. "Living alone has its perks... also has its downs."

Oh god, like I could ever possibly with another person?!

Living alone is bliss! It's not "living alone" that bothers me, because I realize I could never have it any other way, I need time by myself to do my own things.

The ideal is having a long-term emotional commitment with another person who doesn't live with me, and isn't interested in anything other than the emotional commitment. She can stay the week with me anytime, as long as she has someplace to go back to after we've enjoyed each other's company.

  10. You know, I've thought this out, and I'm not sure what you guys owning my telephone number would really help.

Today, I sat down on my bed to read a comic and noticed that my phone was unplugged.

Huh, that's strange. It's not like I cleaned my room or anything.

Then, I remembered that back on Friday, I got woken up by phone ringing and pulled the plug.

So, as sad as it sounds, my phone has been unplugged since last Friday. That's how often I make use of the phone, and it didn't even faze me that my phone never rang, because only salesmen call me.

The moral is if I'm dead, how will anyone ever figure it out from this site?! All you'll be doing is letting a phone ring or getting a busy signal. Not like someone can pick it up and say, "Christian's dead, stop calling!"

  11. Man, do we really have to hear about your sex life on here?!

(decides to read this thread now)

    New reply:

Jay, aren't you married? For shame!

You know, she might be insane. You never can tell with those beautiful women sitting in a coffee shop giving the eyeball to younger guys reading comic books....
