Hitman Agent 47 - I liked it at first, but it got more and more absurd as it skipped along. C+
Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - I liked it but it had many conveniences this franchise relies too much on. B-
The Green Inferno - the ads for this movie made it look amazing, but alas, t'was far from it: just over the top violent and extreme. C-
Sicario - I expected to love this one too but it was a little lackluster. B-
Black Mass - was very engrossing. Depp's best performance that I can recall in a long time. A

not sure I totally buy it's simplification of drug effects, but i thought it was cute.

I have to say, crazy son just died Morgan was more appealing to watch than centered ninja Morgan. And it's my thought that the whole point to this particular zombie tale re-imagining exercise is that everyone loses their humanity, just at different rates based on what they've gone through. at some point they will all be somewhere between where Rick is and where the Wolves are psychologically. The only difference between Rick and the wolves is the great big castle he and his group inherited. this is the same man who bit a guy's throat and tore another man to pieces for attempting to rape his son. And he freely admitted to wanting to kill Carter for his pathetic uprising attempt (Eugene was great in that scene, btw).

The Martian was good enough to pay the price of admission to see it. I did not think it would be as good as it was.

right off the bat, the original shows how superior it is to the fear fiasco. I know some of you guys liked fear more than I did, but there's no argument against how cool the opening tease was with reference to the ad campaign they've waged for the past month. I won't delve into spoilers until everyone's checked it out, but HOT DOGGIE!!!

fear twd made no positive impact on my enjoyment of wd to the point that i'm treating it the same way i treat star trek V in the trek canon - it does not exist. i liked the rich black guy with the boat. that was it. even reuben blades started to bore me. see, kirkman? even you can touch something and make it shit.
