  1. is this the thread to hate on movies?

i just watched interstellar. if you find 160 minutes in your life that you may not know how to spend, take your loved ones for a treat, like dinner or playing ball or whatever you crazy kids want to do, just do not watch this movie. it is shit³, yes shit in third power. ok not everything, the pictures are great and the effects satisfying, the music helps the film a lot. but everything else? omg... the pace and basically the whole fucking script. i have never in my life thought about going out of a cinema. i was close multiple times.

i was close to calling everything in the film. maybe i am a clairvoyant, or and that explanation seems more satisfying, the script was just really really bad. it was not a classical hollywood entertainment popcorn movie and it did not try to be. i wasn't a commentary on humans or social issues or whatever, basically it was no intellectuel film, even though it tried to look like kubriks 2001 (i am pretty sure it tried that).

seriously give me money and i will do a live commentary on the film, where i shred it minute by minute, but i will not watch this ever again voluntarily my time is just worth more.

Oh, I'm going to see it later. It certainly is getting mixed reviews.

  2. Don't know if I was just being a bit thick or not paying enough attention but did anyone else find the flashback bits a tad confusing, I take it that mad ranting guy they freed from the trailer who promptly got bitten was the same guy who looked like (comic spoiler) [ Spoiler : Negan ] at the end who had Tasha Yar locked up.

  3. I got to 20 a few days ago, I am really enjoying it, the story is though incredibly poor. It really does shine in co-op play especially with chat. Levelling past 20 does seem to be a lot of luck or time (neither of which I have). I'm on PS3 so can't play with you guys on your shiny posh PS4s.

  4. Okay, got Destiny sorted out. So far, its fairly good.

I've went to the City, then back to Russia for the warp drive whotsit... Do I just keep going to Russia for more parts?

The moon opens up after a few missions, Pvp at level 5. At level 4 (I think) you can get bounty missions to do on patrol mode (another thing that opens on the map). I was playing patrol last night and a couple of open world events happened which were fun.

I'm enjoying this much more than I thought I would as FPS games aren't normally my cup of tea

  5. Did you enjoy the finale? I liked it but I have questions.

    • Did Kevin get his wish?
    • What happened to Amy?
    • How important is contact to Wayne's "gift?"
    • Why did that mean dog turn nice all of a sudden?

Very much enjoyed the finale, and despite the lack of any answers (which I don't mind with this show, it's part of it's appeal), I thought it was a great way to wrap everything up. Not sure what they'll do for a second series, I've read possibly a whole new set of characters, that would be good but I'd also like to see more of the same.

My personal take on Kevins wish is that it did come true, and that he wished for his family back, which he sort of got, including the dog coming back! i don't think Wayne had anything to do with it though, he himself realised he was a fraud and was just playing off other peoples longing to remove the pain of loss.

I guess Amy just got on the bus and ran away from it all, knowing that the baby would be looked after.

  6. if you aren't watchinbg Leftovers, you are wasting your tv's time. last night's episode had me bawling. it was amazing tv. this is the most underrated show to come down the pike in a while.

Looks like it's just you and me watching it. It's been renewed for a second a season. Just caught up on the last 2 episodes, I love the music, Max Richter really is amazing.

  7. My wife and I are going to be on TV tonight. I was roped in to helping my wife on a cooking show, called Cooks to Market, several years ago, and it's finally being shown tonight on Sky Living at 6pm. Will probably be highly embarrassing but was a fun experience at the time.

  8. Speaking of American Gods, as you were a mere 3 years ago, Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, Dead like me, Pushing Daisies) and Michael Green (Heroes) are apparently writing the script for a TV adaptation for starz along side Neil Gaiman. Sounds like a good combination to me if it ever happens.

  9. "Thank God, thank Jesus" - now unless that's the name of the firemen I think she was thanking the wrong people.

I'm running in the London Marathon in 16 days time. Prior to November last year I'd probably not ran more than 2 miles total in my whole life, I have and think always will hate running, but I'm doing it for a good cause. As I've been pretty slack on asking people for sponsorship I've not raised half as much as I'd have liked, so I'm just asking anybody I vaguely know, which includes some of you folks, so http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/GregoryWhite
