Is that the same george R R Martin who put together the Wildcards series?
I believe so.

Pattern Recognition by William Gibson. I loved Neuromancer, and I noticed Jason's been hyping it up, so I thought I'd give it a shot.
Weird...I bought this on Saturday.

Wha??? Hartnell was the fucking man! When the companions want to save the cavemen in the first arc, and the Doctor prepares to blugeon him with a rock, I knew he was the shizzle.
Hmm? Yes?

I just found out that Terri's mother died last month.
I'm sorry. Hey, if you need to talk, give me a call around 11 PM or so.
-
I had a similar dream, but because I watched the entire first season of the Venture Bros the day before, everyone talked in the voice of their respective Venture Bros avatar.
And Mark had those big ol' Monarch eyebrows. Creepy.
Speaking of which...last week, I was sick 9high fever and whatnot). When I run a fever, I sometimes hallucinate upon waking. I never (well, rarely) act out in these hallucinations; it's more like I'm awake but still dreaming. Anyway, long story short, last week, for about an hour, I was Doctor Venture.

This weekend, I drank a big bottle of Baltika 6, which was some pretty good, 14 proof beer. It was cheep, too! I'll have to buy a couple of bottles on payday.

I haven't voted yet because 1) I've only seen the 1st season and 2 or 3 episodes from the 2nd season and
2) I can't choose between Doctor Venture and Doctor Orpheus

Young Folks by Peter Bjorn and John
Soooooo good.
Highly recommended, especially for jaynova.
Actually, I just heard that song at a bar last week, and I said to the otter, "Oh! They did that song! I going to try to find the album!"
So, good call, and good lookin' out!

Expound, Jay. Unfocused how?
It almost seemed like there was no real main plot, like the entire book was made up of loosely connected mini-plots. I think that was the point, actually, but it makes for a somewhat unfocused book.

Hey Christian....How is Dick's Clans of the Alphane Moon ? I own it, but it looks kind of like the Sci-fi you described above.
I just finished Man in the High Castle , and I liked it, though it felt kind of...unfocused? What do you think?

One of my favorite shows from back in the day.
-
Awesome, awesome to the max! :D
Fuck yeah!
-
Season 2 comes out on DVD in a couple of weeks.
Yup. I will own it.

Just finished reading RULES OF ATTRACTION...
Freaking awesome...love the point of views and perspectives...
Superkeen to read AMERICAN PSYCHO but im busy right now with John Shirleys SUBTERANEAN book..
Interesting Kit scene in the beginning...
Rules is better than Psycho, but psycho is good. I also loved Lunar Park.

It gets better. Much better.
Well, I'll soon find out...I just bought the 1st season DVD.

Ahhhh...finally got to see some episodes of The Venture Bros.. Good stuff. It's a slow day in the Writing Center, so in between students, I'm watching it on video.glath.com.
-
I just watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I kind of avoided this one for some reason, but I'm glad I finally saw this. Much better than the Lethal Waapon movies. Downey was hilarious as the narrator. Good stuff.

Today I bathed one dog, one cat, and four rats. Ever try to hold a squirming hairless rat covered in shampoo?
You must have a big bathtub! (Humump-bah!)
Hey Selks...did your DVD's get back to you?

I watched Wanking...er...Waking Life. Wow, this movie asks so many philosophical, like, questions, you know? Like, how do you know you are not in a dream? Wow. That's deep. I bet this movie revolutionized, like, philosophy and junk.
Complete wankfest. Animation is interesting for about 20 minutes. Boooring.

Blood Diamond
I was very satisfied with this flick, but im afraid i cant elaborate on this.
Sworn to secrecy?

Man in the High Castle
Reading:Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov...about halfway through (reading it at the same time as the otter, then we discuss), WOW. This may be the most clever book I've read. So many puns, literary references, etc. It's been compared to Ulysses by James Joyce, and I can see why (I've glanced at the latter, but never actually read it...its on the list).
The Epic of Gilgamesh -Nice and short, I just started it. So far, it's interensting. I like Ekindu. For some reason, the journey into the forest reminds me of the forest oe Eruga in the old nintendo game "Rygar". That's pop culture for ya.
I Ching translated by Brian Brown Walker. I'm not so much reading it as consulting it, using the three coin method. I realize that this method is considered inferior to the "yarrow stick" method or the adapted coin method, but hey. I like the coin method.
I was thinking about reading The Bible , one or two books at a time, but my copy is cheap, and the print runs together. I may read the Koran instead.
Besides that, lots of comics.
Oh! I also just started reading Phillip K. Dick's Man in the High Castle, on the otter's reccomendation (due to my interest in I Ching.)

The thing with Ellis is that his schedule is so erratic that there'll be no way to know whether he's left a series uncompleted until he dies. Which, the way he talks it up, will be next Wednesday.
From the bird flu.

I still maintain that preacher is a brilliant story of friendship and betrayal hiding behind a buch of adolescent wankfest.
