  1. End of 3 appears to be the first written with next series in mind. Fly has divided our household AND my office (karen & Jodi don't like it, I do)

I thought Fly was brilliant! Not many shows are confident enough to have a pure character piece with barely any plot.

Amy and I are currently at the halfway point of season 5, can't quite bring ourselves to finish with this series yet.

  2. Like Lou I'm not jumping in to either one of the next gen consoles yet but will eventually. Money is tight and I don't think I have turned the Xbox 360 on for anything other than BBC iPlayer in over a month.

  3. Given limited time and funds I'm weighing up whether I should be buying Saint's Row 4 or GTA5.

I know that Amy would prefer Saint's Row 4, but I might buy her Rayman Legends because she'll love that too.

  4. The scene isn't out of character for the story, but it is still a big shock when it happens.

My wife was upset by the scene and she knew it was coming because unlike me she has read the books. You get invested in the characters in great stories and if you empathize with them and what they are going through I think it is an emotional blow when horrific things happen to them.

  5. I'm not sure you need to be logged in to vote, but I'm not a 100% on that.

I just logged out, cleared my browser history and tried the link and it takes me to our specific entry and scroll down and the vote button is below the photo on the right and it let me click it. I don't know if it registered or maybe because I voted before it won't.

  6. Has this been posted here yet? http://toys.usvsth3m.com/drwho/#

    Doctor Who plot generator

The TARDIS loses power and strands the Doctor and Clara on a boulevard in Paris, and the Doctor is worried. Isolated from the Doctor, Clara goes on to uncover the secret of the last Cybermen. The Daleks appear, but end up caught in their own time rift. Will.i.am kisses Clara.

  7. I wasn't blown away by the Xbox One reveal but I'm feeling pretty positive about it and will get it on release.

I'm pretty much using my 360 as my entertainment hub already, I used to watch DVDs on it until I finally got a Bluray player about 6 months ago and still watch BBC iPlayer and 4OD on it. I have no complaints in that regard and I'm sure given that the Xbox One is designed with that in mind from the start it will be better at these kind of things.

I don't give a fuck about the partnership with the NFL, they never even explained what the fuck that entailed anyway.

I'm waiting for E3 for the proper info about games on the new system.

  8. Apologies to those people that follow me on Twitter or are friends on Facebook as you may have heard this news already.

Amy and I have made the shortlist for the National Trust's Special Places competition for this photo that Amy took. Please click the link and vote for us to win a professional photoshoot and holiday in a National Trust cottage.

  9. Lou, is your b-day close to mine, or am I just confused because our ages are the same?

    Nope. I am in May

Pretty sure it's me you're thinking of Christian as mine is early March.

I was first introduced to Hellblazer late 1993 or early 1994 by a university friend who loaned me his copy of Original Sins and I loved it, he then gave me a few more Delano issues to read until I got to the point where I just needed to start buying it for myself.

  10. Well that's the argument against pardoning him. It won't do Alan Turing any good as he is dead, and his legacy has already been ensured he is widely recognised as a British hero and genius.

It would be about making us feel better and making a statement that our society has moved on and having treated him abysmally in the past he would not have been nowadays. But although homosexuality is no longer illegal our society cannot be considered post-homophobic yet and I feel an act such as a pardon would be an empty gesture that would be spun to appear as something more significant.

  11. Halfway through The Hobbit at the moment. Don't think I've read it in 10-15 years, but I read it loads as a kid.

Prior to that I've read all four of Terry Pratchett's (young adult?) novels about the witch Tiffany Aching. Loved them!

The Discworld books have seemed stale to me lately but these were a breath of fresh air and I even got my wife reading them even though she's not a fan of the Discworld books generally.
