  1. Of course looks are important! In case anyone doesn't realize this yet, sex is a very important part of a relationship! If you're with a man or woman who's like your best friend, but you're not attracted enough to them to fuck them, of course the relationship is going to fail!

That's where the different between "six-pack macho man" and "good looking man" comes in.

Perhaps when women are younger they equate "hard body" with "sexy man" (?), but in my experience post age-26 and with older women "hot" doesn't equate with a man who works out at the gym every day; just as long as he keeps himself in decent shape.

Looks=Dresses really nice, has a cute face (or whatever you women use to describe men's faces), good head of hair (this is very important, women get turned on by running their hands through a nice head of hair), good working things below the waist-line (he he).

Of course, just like men, women have different likes and dislikes. Some will like muscular men, some like bigger men, some like thin men, some like pretty boys, some like bald heads, some like the rugged look.

So, if you've got the good personality, and you're not a total dog or obese, chances are good that there's a woman out there who is attracted to your type.

  2. Yeah, just like at all those strip clubs....the women are stripping off one piece of cloth after another, and the men all hot and bothered, and then that last piece of clothes come off, and all the men are shouting, "Hey! Put it back on! Dammit!"

I agree that the right clothes on a body is far more sexy and attractive then pure nudity.

  3. Narnia is all Biblical, so where do all the humans come from? They're not there in the first book! It's just like Adam, Eve, and Cain....Obviously, the four children have been busy!

Seriously though, if you read the rest of the series, everything will become clear, wolvy.

  4. There was that annoying "Super Friends" cartoon theme song, which didn't have any singing. Just a theme with the announcer doing voice overs about how cool the characters are that they banded together and can stop any menace.

"Godzilla", thought not technically a cartoon based on a comic was a comic, and had a damn cool theme song!

"Up from the depths, thirty stories high, breathing smoke and flame. It's Godzilla! Godzilla! Godzilla! And Godzuki...."

  5. "Imagine taking someone who's never seen comedy before in their life and showing him Seinfeld, Arrested Development and The Simpsons. He picks The Simpsons as the funniest one.

Then you find someone who's seen thousands of comedies from all over the world, including the three above. He picks Seinfeld.

Assuming you've never seen any of those shows, which of those two people would you rely on for advice about what to watch that night?

I'd get both of them to describe all three programmes to me, and make up my own mind. "

I'd take a poll out onto the street and ask 100 random people "Do you strongly agree, agree, disagree, strongly disagree, or are undecided about which of these two choices?"

We need L.M. Rosa to stop by in this thread!

  6. All "Watchmen" fans clamour for a "Watchmen" movie! We FEAR that one won't ever be made....but with a BETTER ending than the comic! An ending for a post-9/11 world, where everything that ever came before is irrelevant!

I know Hollywood would never do a "Watchmen" movie in the context of which it was written (1980s, Cold War)....We can't expect that.

  7. Pretty well everyone on here has read "Persepolis" and we all love it. Her parents are Socialists and she grows up in Iran at the tail end of the Shah's reign and during the Iranian revolution.

I haven't read the two follow up books (she also released a third book in the series, which is sort of an addendum). The first book doesn't take her into Austria though, so that must be the second one.

  8. I didn't feel it was a step back, so much as a return to form for J.C., just as his Anima Tarot reading revealed during Jenkins run. John really can't change, remember? He doesn't want to badly enough.

Now, Azzarello's John was a HUGE step backward!

  9. I have no fucking idea what the fuck is wrong with people going around saying this new King Kong movie is the greatest movie ever made!

The original movie was a classic, but hardly the greatest of movies.

This is a remake of that original movie. It's the same fucking thing only slightly updated, with huge improvements in special effects, and a bit of broadening of the plot/characters.

It still comes down to giant ape goes to civilization, doesn't adapt well, goes on rampage, falls in love with woman, climbs big building, sex=death, The End.

    Better than the original? Perhaps.

Best movie ever? Get over yourselves!

  10. Well, guess what?! I thought he's keep his mouth running for an hour! I got on the phone to kill time and didn't check to see if he'd shut-up!

It wasn't enough that he screwed up the economy....that he invaded other countries at a whim....leaving untold death and destruction in his wake.

Now, he made me miss "Family Guy"!

Well, that's the last straw! I hate you Bush! Not even Reagan made me miss "Family Guy"!

You've gone and made it personal!

  11. Verily, I am very vertuberated by this versimilitude of vile vomit!

"V (indicating his mask): This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vangquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

Evey: Are you like, a crazy-person?"

This is probably one of the most unintentionally funny lines from any movie, and I'm sure the cast will have great fun with it on Mystery Science Theatre 4000.

Alan Moore writes comics, and all comics make great action movies, because comics are all adolescent power fantasies! Duh!

This movie reminds me of an attempt to replicate "Matrix" in some way....

  12. "Do women really go for Personality over looks. Like say a really charming decent looking guy hits on them. Do they go out with that guy? Or if the guy with the 6 pack and body of a greek god who is a total prick hits on them. Who would have the better chances?"

Women are incredibly hard to please. They'll destroy you if you're not careful and strong.

They look at that incredibly "handsome or cute" guy, and that attracts them to that person, and then they see if they have a great personality and are charming, to decide if they want to stay around them.

Or, they just go for the great looking guy who's an asshole, because, well, for the hell of it....

BUT, it's not the guy with the body of a Greek god that attracts all women. Only certain women go for men like that, a lot of women wouldn't want to be with a man that is that muscular. Looks aren't just about 6'2'', 200 pounds of rock hard muscle.

Just as "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" when it comes to men checking out women, you never know what a woman is going to find desirable about a man's look.

I've found I have incredible powers over women in their early-20s. As long as I don't stay around them too long or talk to them, they find me incredibly attractive! Sadly, this doesn't lead to conducive relationships, as the minute they spend time around me they become creeped out and want to get as far away from me as possible.

  13. Speaking of this, I just found out they are Trading the entire "Omaha the Cat Dancer" as we speak!

The first Trade is already out and the next one is coming out early-2006.

They're pretty damn cheap Trades too!

Needless to say, I am excited!

  14. Yeah, all you Europeans have such bland food. What's the deal with that?! You think we don't have a revolution all planned here in the U.S.? God, us Lefties in America had to stand down and allow globalization to run unimpeded just to make sure that our good tasting food spread! I hope you're all happy.

And, those Norwegians. Everything cost crazy amounts of money just to help pay for all their citizens!

Well, over here, I can get 5 tasty items at Taco Bell for less than $5! It's a small price of pay to see babies starving in the streets.

Electric tokens? hmm....Must be like bus tokens, but used for electricity.

Yeah, these X-Box 360s piss me right off! I'm sure they're cool and all, but no video game system can be worth 400 fucking dollars!

  15. "Selkie: How can that possibly be legal?

I don't know, because it sounds absolutely illegal to me, and I can't imagine how it has survived court challenge. Of course, as I bolded in the original article, apparently Round Lake Beach doesn't even care if their actions are legal. "

Because property owners like this are given a hell of a lot more rights than people who don't own property in America. It's the fucking system this whole god-forsaken country was built on!

  16. I still remember reading "Great Gatsby" for the first time when I was a Juniour in h.s.

I was thinking "boring, I don't want to read this....what's the damn point...." (I could be quite foolish sometimes at that point!), then I finished the book. Stopped. Put it down. Stared ahead and blinked my eyes and said, "Damn! That's me!"

Have adored Fitzgerald as my idol ever since.
