The links under the game are worth checking out too, the comments on the speed run are quite funny.

The comics are worth a read though? And definitely to read before the film?
The comics are good, not fantastic art, but it's a good lead into the film and I'm sure the film makes more sense having read them, however the film does recap most of the story from the comics. He actually uses frames from the comics as flashbacks a couple of times.

i rented Southland Tales and heard it was awful but I need to see it for myself.
It really is, which is a real shame because I quite liked the comics. It's just all a bit of a mess.

Portishead new album Third due for release next month is floating around the internet. It's pretty good, if you liked them before then you'll probably like this. Personally I think it's better than their second album.

Ahh, this is the second season. Shortened thought it is. I've learned to to get attached to my favorite shows as they alway get canceled.
[Enter long list of canceled shows here]
Still, i'm enjoying it while it's on. Black Jauer is the fucking man.
I was talking about the Bionic Woman.

I wouldn't grow too attached to it though as it looks unlikely that they're doing a second season, due to a combination of the writers strike and it not doing that well.
-
I've just watched episodes 4-6 and it's getting better and better. To be honest though I'd probably watch it if it was shit, just because of Summer Glau.

oh......
"Cult TV show Battlestar Galactica will end early next year, the program's makers have confirmed. The final fourth season of the sci-fi show will be broadcast on U.S. cable network Sci Fi Channel from November. Executive producers Ronald Moore and David Eick released a statement, saying, "This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end. Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we've decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms. And while we know our fans will be saddened to know the end is coming, they should brace themselves for a wild ride getting there - we're going out with a bang."
From IMDB news.

I've been reading Girls. I really like it but there are only 2 issues left and I really have concerns as to how they'll wrap it all up with a satisfactory answer in so few issues.

Me too. :D
He should never have even been charged with whathisname's murder though as the evidence wouldn't really have stood up in court. Even so there's no way he would have been sent to Fox River to do his time let alone in gen pop of Fox River. Also didn't he take a plea bargain anyway and what kinda shitty deal that would have been if it meant time in Fox River.
He wanted to go to Fox river, as he thought he'd get it easy as he knew all the guards (he said he wanted to be close to his dieing mum), but the new Warden plays it completly by the rules.

My first LP was also the Star Wars soundtrack.

Is anyone still playing Warcraft? Big patch released today with major talent changes etc.. in preparation for the release of the expansion (level cap changed to 70 and a whole new continent).

I just finished reading the Gap series by Stephen Donaldson, undeniably a fantastic story but could easily have been 3 books rather than 5, he does tend to repeat himself.
Just started Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks which is apparently fantastic

Oblivion turned out to be quite an expensive game for me, installed it and it set the game to run at low setting. Just had to buy a new graphics card and another Gig of Ram to get it to look stunning.
The sunrise/set over water is just incredible.

Baby is due in September, we were planning on getting married around then, but postponed the wedding until next year, wrong order I suppose but who cares (apart from our mums)
I've left my job anyway, got another business about to start up - a childrens play barn.

The Omega man - I suppose technically a sci-fi but it scared the crap out of me when I was 10.
As opposed to Hostel which I saw last night, where the crap stayed firmly lodged on the screen.

Well after much deliberation and research I came to the conclusion that a comic shop just won't make enough money to support my family. Admitttedly when I initially asked for your guys input I just had a girlfriend, but since that first post I suddenly have a fiance and a baby on the way.
Still like to have a comic shop one day though, so thanks for the ideas.

I actually prefer Invasion now, at least that is finally moving the main plot line along, was very slow in the beginning though.

Zack Snyder of Dawn of the Dead remake fame is apparently going to direct Watchmen now. Haven't seen Dawn of the Dead remake myself, but I guess it doesn't really matter who directs it, they'll mess it up anyway.

As predictable and cliched as it was, I still thought it was quite a decent episode, as far as this season goes anyway. Not a patch on the Hurley episode from season one though, I thought that was one of the best, definately the most amusing.
Do you think that Libby remembers Hurley from before? She certainly had a very wierd expression on her face when they walked off together at the end before the final reveal.

I don't know what it is about me and games right now but I'm picking up a PSP tonight. It comes with Wipeout Pure and I'll add Lumines to that too.
Otherwise I waiting for Tekken, Me & My Katamari and Valkyrie Profile.
Lumines is an evil game, it eats time like no other game I've ever played. World of Warcraft I could happily play for 5 hours and know that I'd been playing for 5 hours, Lumines you pick up and play for what seems like 10 minutes when in actuality it's been 2 hours. More addictive than crack, it has a real "just one more go, must beat high score" factor.

There's a bit more info here with various explanations and photos of the actual place.
I think it's just another car with a sheet over it.
The Shield, Season Six Thread
in Bring the Noise
Posted
I've just finished a two and half week marathon of watching The Shield from the start, never having seen any of it before. I watched it purely on the reviews it's got here, so I just wanted to thank all you good people for bringing it to my attention, because that is some of the finest tv I've ever seen.
Roll on Season 7.
Next project - The Wire.
