  1. Returned to Skyrim after a week's break, still miffed at the borked Thieve's Guild questline I loaded it up just to clean up my character's inventory and leave him somewhere civilised before waiting for a fix to materialise from the developers....two hours later I forced myself to log out and go to bed.

Still so, so much to do and I've put 100 plus hours into the thing, amazing.

the next patch is supposed to cure many of the game breaking mission bugs, includng quite a few I've had the misfortune of running into, so hopefully your thieves guild probs will be solved as well. sigh.

I just had a look at some patch notes (for 1.4) and there doesn't seem to be any mention of Johns particular problem. Might not be a complete list or I might have missed it. I read them here

  2. Skyrim it is then.

Though I use a PS3. Is there any rumblings of a future non-buggy version?

I'm on the PS3 and played for 80 hours, only bug I've had so far was backward flying dragons which was fixed with the latest patch.

Took a break from Skyrim for the last few days and went back to Dead Island to finish it, made me realise just how detailed the graphics are in Skyrim.

  3. Regarding your spoiler, I think that's a distinct possibility. Thought the zombie in the chemist was great when it got back up with it's head hanging off. I really wish they weren't having this big break after the next episode, and from what I've read in the comic thread about the last several months issues the next trade isn't going to impress much.

  4. Here's a quote from an interview with Vince Gilligan regarding the season finale..

"Q: I have to say that this season finale almost felt like a series finale, with all of the story lines that it appears to wrap up. Was that by design?

A: That is on purpose. We weren’t sure that we would have a fifth season when we were plotting out the end of Season 4. So we wanted to make the end of Season 4 as satisfying and as complete as possible, not knowing what the future would hold. Having said that, there are a couple of big, outstanding questions still in play. But I agree with you, if the show had not gone on past the end of Season 4 – although I’m very happy to say that it indeed will – but if it weren’t to go forward, I think I could be satisfied on some level, by that episode. "

Plenty of ways it could go from here, wouldn't even begin to guess what they'll do though.

Second episode of Dexter was rather dull I thought. I seem to recall last season took a good few episodes before it was any good.

  5. Toll the Hounds is available as an audio book now. I acquired it to listen to on a long car journey and it's not bad at all. Very strange hearing the way some of the names are pronounced, I wonder if they ask the author on the proper pronunciation or if they leave it upto the narrators discretion.

It's all kicking off now in the last few hundred pages. Good stuff.

Why are there no smilies with massive swords.

  6. I'm really struggling with Toll the Hounds, I'm just over half way through it and not a great deal has actually happened. I'm sure it will pick up in the latter half, but it's definately been my least favourite of the series so far. Are the last two books better?

  7. Speaking of Mrs. Pond, she is really starting to irritate the hell out of me, despite her incredible hotness. She continually treats Rory like shit. A guy who would do anything for her, including protecting her for 2,000 years while she was in the Pandorica, deserves a lot more love and respect. Rory, buddy, it may be time to see a lawyer.

And an interesting twist there at the end. Hmmmm

Amy acts like that because in reality she wants to be with me, something like that anyway.

  8. Anyone been watching No Ordinary Family? The new show about a family that gains superpowers? If so, any views to offer up?

I've watched the first 3 episodes, it's not bad but it's not that great either. Not as good as the first season of Heroes but better than rest of Heroes. It's just strange seeing Micheal Chiklis doing anything but Vic.

I stuck with this despite the poor start, it's not been fantastic but the characters have all grown on me and the potential for interesting plot developments has left me feeling rather sad that it almost definitely wont get a second season. It certainly got better as it progressed balancing the drama and comedy and even getting slightly darker. The effects were pretty good too. Haven't seen the finale yet so I don't know how much of a cliffhanger it ends on, if at all.

On a different note, anyone watch Camelot?
