I just took the SATs this morning. I'm now watching the Liberal Party Leadership Convention on TV.

I had an indescribably weird dream. Something to do with the American Revolution, but nothing like what really happened. There was also an element of the supernatural in it. And a guy who I think was Patrick Wilson.

One of the thing I like about the Discworld books is that most of them can be read in almost any order. I don't have to feel stressed about finding out which one comes after which, and finding them all to read them in order.

I loved The Rebel Angels and What's Bred in the Bone, but yeah, The Lyre of Orpheus is not at all as good. I actually abandoned it once before picking it up again, just for the sake of completing the trilogy.
Davies' "dryness" is what I like about him. He's not fussy and he tells the craziest stories with such a simple and direct style.
That's interesting, as the Lyre of Orpheus is far and away the least dry book of that trilogy. I loved it myself, but it isn't as good as The Rebel Angels.
(Does Davies remind anybody else somewhat of Russel Hoban?)
That's true, the Lyre of Orpheus was less dry as the other two, but it was also... less good.
Coincidence?

This is another Communist themed vid, that I had posted for you guys in the youtube thread:

Given the political leanings of certain people here...
If the link doesn't work just look for "Jesse Drew" and "Manifestoon."
That was.. actually quite useful.

Dunno why I'm posting this, but simply I don't feel like myself right now. Right now, I just feel like hating everything that exist in life. Dunno if its depression or whatever, but I just wanna burst...
It's college. I think. I feel like this more often than I did in high school.

Also he must be lying as everyone knows that all cocks look awful, like the creator was looking around in his workshop for that je ne sais quois extra piece to add and all to be found was an aborted elephant foetus.
Was just at my first gay club this past week, for "Shower Power". Basically, a couple of really ripped, beefy guys do a strip in a...shower. Above the dance floor. With errections. I really had no idea how bizarre such things looked, so it was quite...educational. :icon_redface:
BTW, one was uncircumsized, so the rule about all canadian guys has just been falsified
What, you never went to a gay club while you were living in the gay village in Montreal?
-
Heh, I just remembered this friend of mine who for some reason is totally clueless to social norms. I remember one day she came to school and started asking all the boys "Are you circumscribed?". She went up to a friend of ours who's Jewish and said, "You're Jewish! That means you must be circumscribed!"

How exactly do you carry a big butcher knife around when you go outside? I mean, where do you put it? In a hand bag? In your pocket? Or do you just carry it in your hand?

Aaaaand...
AWWW...... That's the most adorable thing ever!

My dreams are usually really weird. Strange, impossible things happen in them, but they always seem reasonable in the dream. I also often dream about being forced to do things I've never done in real life, like smoking or driving.

1am is really early to be getting a newspaper. I didn't even know they made newspapers before 1am.

I loved Fifth Business.
I have a first printing my GF gave me as a present. I also have the Manticore first printing. Davies is a fabulous writer, if you don;t find him too dry. I recommend the Rebel Angels.
I never finished the Lyre of Orpheus. Sorry.
Davies aside, I just finished The Best Buddhist Writing 2004. It's hard to read while studying engineering but these short essays were great digestable pieces of mind blanking goodness.

Had a dream that coralys and I were playing Scrabble with a couple of my colleagues, sitting in a circle on the floor in a flat in Paris. They weren't understanding either the rules or the words, so we switched to French and the game went much smoother. Of course, I lost; I can't spell, even though I do spell better in French for whatever reason.
Awesome. I would suck at French Scrabble, though. I can't spell at all in French. Have you ever played English Scrabble with a French board? It's weird.
I also had a dream about Scrabble. It was that dream I mentioned where my friends came over to my house and I got embarrassed at how messy the house was. We were going to play Scrabble when I noticed the dust and starting sweeping, in the dream.

I've got a 1000 word essay due in two days. In French! :excl: :excl: :excl:
And my wrist really hurts. Too much note taking and mouse flicking.

I had a really normal dream last night. I dreamed that I had two of my friends over at my house and I was showing them around when I saw that my floors were dusty and littered with bits of paper everywhere. I got really embarrassed and started to sweep in front of them. And the truth is that my house is really messy and dusty and I am expecting guests on Sunday. I guess I'm nervous about how messy the house is.
Usually, my dreams are weirder.

I have a test tomorrow morning on history and I haven't studied. And it's almost midnight.
On the bright side, here's the current standing of my grade vs. the class average:
Actually, I blame that thing for making me arrogant about my abilities. I just hope I'm right. I'll see tomorrow.

What? Just when the rest of the thing was making some sense. (Grammatically.) (More or less.)

I should be getting them in about twenty days. Actually, I lied. I was taking SAT subject tests today.
