Streets of Glory. A damn good western Garth did for Avatar. Good characterization is one of his strengths as a writer and I feel that each character in this story had their own distinct voice and it felt very natural.

CC do you get the feeling he's losing his touch a bit?

Jason Aaron is leaving Conan with issue #12. To be replaced by Jim Zub. There goes the Conan neighbourhood.
I wonder if Aaron is planning to leave Marvel soon. Avengers will be his only book left at Marvel.
I thought I read somewhere he planned for 12 issues.
Maybe he'll finish Southern Bastards?

Avatarex - what a fun series. Did it ever get past issue 4 ? Loved the nods to 18 Days in issue 3

I have the run but it's been years since I read it. Looking forward to digging in

Re-read Jamie Dleano and Richard Case's Ghostdancing from the old Vertigo days. It was fun. A bit much of the trippy hippy stuff but I loved Coyote Old Man's character. Really liked the ending too, which sets up for future tales, but I doubt that will ever happen.

Ripped through Strange Kisses and the sequel Stranger Kisses. It's good stuff but I read through it all in about a minute. It feels as though this would read better in a monthly format, which they did later on, and we will get through that too. Gravel is an interesting character with a lot of potential.

I always seem to forget what came out in a specific year and am usually off. So I will go along with Beast of Vargu and Goloski Station as well.

And that's why no bastard buys comics anymore, innit?
It is definitely a reason I do not collect as many titles, or try out new ones that I may be iffy on. Back in the day not everything was collected, so you almost had to grab the floppies. Nowadays it seems everything is collected, so sometimes it is better to just wait.
Of course, we have better print methods, better paper quality, etc. But some stories are just shit.

Yes, "Long Night at Goloski Station" was very good. That's how Hellboy should be done

Finished off Garth Ennis' War Stories from Avatar. Good stuff, his war stories are him at his best. The art was pretty bland, but the varying 3 or 4 issue minis were a lot of fun.
Off to Grant Morrison's 18 Days. This is really good through 4 issues. Love the art. It's a classic good versus evil final battle before the dark age of iron rises and wipes the gods away in favor of man.

15? Holy shit, I can't even imagine. I really can't. Happy birthday, Carmody Jr.
Yeah, Max loves heavy metal, action figures and has an intense dislike of strangers so he's a chip off the old block, that's for sure
1) You have every pair of silly billy bobo pants ever made
2) They are all dead
3) See the HB thread! It lives! Not sure if I am on board or not though. We really going back to Tim Hunter?

Hi Carmody!
I think you have your silly billy bobo pants on today! My facial hair game has always been on point. It's the hair on my head that's disappeared.
I have a 4 year old boy now, so that's new.
How's the fam?

Well well well, look what the cat dragged in

I hear you, man. I have a huge gap in my Aaron Thor as well (hope to close that). Still reading his Avengers which is ok.
Black Hammer wrapped up, even though they have some things on the horizon. Jeff Lemire has a new graphic novel coming out so that will be nice.
Honestly if I get more than 2 or 3 books a week it's a big week. Just not much out there, and that is OK, I have a lot to catch up on
-
So Donny Cates is taking over on Thor after Aaron. Looks like this is where I get off, boys.

Oh, man, he'd do a great Jonah Hex. War stories and westerns are his strengths. Add a little black magic to the mix and he'd be perfect
