Hey Avaunt! Was just thinking about you
Yeah, my wife went out and stocked up on the basics while the boy and I played cars. Not because we're worried about the latest virus, but only if we don't, then we can't get by due to others' hoarding. I'd like to make it a habit of having extra stuff on hand anyways. The last time we had a major power outage I found myself a little light. Can't do that with a kid in tow. these days.

apparat: Cercy. This was a fun read, quite humorous. And Raulo Caceres' art is amazing. I am a sucker for good old fashioned pencils and inks, and the level of detail is amazing.

Going through Wozza's Apparat singles stuff for Avatar. Simon Spector and Frank Ironwine were great, and I'd love to see more of those. Angel Stomp Future was, well, painful. Although I suppose much of it was tongue in cheek and Juan Jose Ryp's art is always a treat, especially in black and white. But this was a lot of Wozza pseudo tech babble and I could not wait for it to be over. Frankenstein's Womb was quite good as well. I have now to read Crecy, which I recall enjoying, and Aetheric Mechanics, which I do not think I ever read.

She has a great voice. Not really familiar with her stuff

There's Ignition City in the books. A bit of a whodunnit set in a mid 50s world where space travel and exploration have been the staple for quite some time. Ignition City is one of the few remaining space ports left and is a total dump where yesterday's space heroes have gone to rot. Much like many of Wozza's arcs this one starts off nicely, spikes, and then abruptly ends without really telling of the consequences of the final actions. All in all, a pretty good read
-
Well, that wrapped up rather abruptly.

Yeah, Dog is correct, my bad. (Although I really did like Super Gods)
Dude, I'll have to post some of the zany science phrases he's using here, classic Wozza

Half way through Supergod
snow. This is a really cool story, although the center seems to move a little fast (introducing a bit much characters in a bit little time) and Wozz gets to ramble on about pseudoscience babble. -
Just finished "Scars", a pretty generic cop drama where Wozza gets to be real edgy
Followed that up with Dark Blue, which was pretty fun but real short

Concentrating on character stuff instead of nob jokes raises his game a lot, doesn't it?
It's absolutely his strength, characterization.
[edit] - I was going to just read and chuck this, but it's a keeper. One word: Digby

Streets of glory ? Just re read it. It was awesome.

Dan Dare is a damn good comic book. This is a vintage Garth Ennis war story set against a pulp sci fi back drop. This has all of Garth's best elements without the dick and fart jokes. It even contains one of the more emotional moments I have ever seen in a comic book. Lots of 'Englishmen fighting for duty and country' type stuff.

So glad I missed them

Well that's the Gravel monthly finished. Only 21 issues, I wonder if it did not sell well so they just wrapped it up.
-
I trust JJ, but the DC cinematic universe is a god damn mess
-
I re read that this year. Still a good read!!

I’d buy it

He’ll be re-elected. I’ve very little doubt.

How is this happening? Not just in your country, but mine also, and around the world.

Strange Killings was fun: a magician takes over a prison and orchestrates a riot. Gravel intervenes. Pretty typical Wozz, lots of action scenes, gross bits, tough talk and a quick wrap up
-
Oh, man, he'd do a great Jonah Hex. War stories and westerns are his strengths. Add a little black magic to the mix and he'd be perfect
-
it was released in 2007

Streets of Glory. A damn good western Garth did for Avatar. Good characterization is one of his strengths as a writer and I feel that each character in this story had their own distinct voice and it felt very natural.

Going through Terra Obscurra right now, although it was co-authored with Peter Hogan. This is fun stuff, a seemingly issue by issue pulp hero showcase with an overarching mega threat. And what did happen in Antarctica? Man, I have not read ABC comics in years
