  1. Yesterday was indeed the second slowest day since opening day after the forum moved.

Weekend posting has slowed down a lot recently, but things slowed down since August.

I will post more once I get back on the internet at home, but that may take some time. I used to post at work, but we are so busy now that I rarely find time to eat, much less chat on the internet.

  2. Disappointing to see the one WII game that caught my interest, Red Steel, getting pretty shitty reviews.

well, that's the thing: the launch games, except for Zelda don't do much for me. but Super Mario Galaxy will apparently hit in March, so by then....

Wii Sports was fun! My arms are still sore from boxing on Thursday.

  3. Today, in the Writing Center, it was slow, so my coworkers and I were talking about movies. My one coworker, Michael, said this of Sin City: "It didn't work for me. For one thing, it needed more hookers."

    Awesome.

  4. Read Demo, which pretty much kicked my ass. The stories were either beautiful, depressing, or both.

Also read The Punisher: Back to the Beginning, which I liked. I had head a big spoiler about the ending, and I wasn't too happy about it, being a Punisher fan of the '80s. It was handled right, though, and my faith in St. Ennis is restored. (Until I read The Boys)

  5. Due to some crazyness in my life, I hit the reset button on my reading. I did finish World War Z, which I reccomend to you all.

    I am currently reading:

The Spy Who Came in from the Cold by John LeCarre (the last "e" having one of those little accent thingies above it.)

A Scanner Darkly by Phillip K. Dick. (Reading this at Borders)

This is Just a Modern Rock Story by some journalist guy. (reading this in the bathroom)

Finished The Spy Who Came in from the Cold. I really liked it, though the love story seemed a little forced. It was necessary, though.

Now reading The Executioner: War against the Mafia by Don Pendleton or sommat. I wanted to see how much the Punisher is a rip off of this guy.

  6. I didn't want to go out unarmed, so took a quick look around the kitchen. Rather than doing the sensible thing and getting the big kitchen knife, I decide instead to grab...

    THE ROLLING PIN

...which happened to be sitting on the counter.

Class, your assignment is to write a feminist deconstruction of the above scene.

  7. Aside from Venom at the end, wasn't that just the very rough cut of the other trailer? All that cgi spec and storyboarding has been made into actual footage in the other trailer. I didn't see anything new other than Venom.

I think your right. Watching all the unfinished CGI made me think of a spiderman video game, and how it would be fun to recut that trailer with footage from the Atari 2600 Spiderman game.

It would be fun...because that game is one of THE GREATEST GAMES EVER MADE!!!!

  8. California is having a very typical election, with 13 state initiatives, and candidates 24 federal and state offices on the ballot, in addition to more regional, urban and county offices and initiatives. Possibly the most high profiled race for the governor's office. So I thought I'd share with you the first page of our state's Democratic Party's pamphlet for its candidate challenging the Republican incumbent for that office. (If nothing else, Ahnold adds a bit more color to the never drab politics of this state.)

What's with the elipsis? Arnold Schwartzenneger...has a huge head.

  10. Ah, I meant the current CD version - I don't know how long they've been packaged like that, but last time I noticed a copy in the shops it was still the same edition. I've had my current copy of the CD for a good few years now, but it was a replacement for an earlier tape copy, pirated from a friend, which didn't include the EP. Can't remember exactly when I got the new copy, but I was chuffed to find the extra tracks on it.

Ah ha! I've had my copy for a while...must be an older pressing.

Back on topic, I got from the library:

    Sleater-Kinney -the Woods

Guster -Ganging up on the Sun

Sigar Ros...um, not the grey one with the alien baby, and not ()...the other one
