  1. p.s -

found myself waiting for a script from diggle, so had a free afternoon.

i felt the lure of john-----

    Crikey!

Is that the one you emailed me about re Just 1 Page ?

    </saliva>

We REALLY need to tell DC that they need to send Tim over to Brighton as a good will gesture, don't we?

  2. And Ade, how dare you . . .

Tha main John shot is from issue 215 for goodness sakes

    I kill me.

    - tb

    Which one's that ? I didn't see it.

    :-P

It's Gemma White Stripe from #180 (which is the one I thought you were owning up to, but didn't have time to check the numbers this morning)

  3. Thanks Tim.

made your corrections, and I knew you didn't reuse the pictures (without good cause) but was trying to cover all the bases. I'd spotted Gemma's eye, but didn't fancy identifying which cover that was from !

    Superb finale !

  4. The two cigarettes don't work for me, looks too odd (chain smoking or no), otherwise a smashing final effort.

He's lighting one up to pass to the new bearer of the flame.

Ade, you need to annotate it matey.

Do you think I am FUCKING MAD ???

Tim likes the pose used in 188 as similar photos appear on 193 & 202 and the mugshots of 171 & 194 (not with fag photoshopped out!).

171 & 194 use the same "police file photos"

    It's the Jock graffiti from 162 not 134 !

  5. But why's he got one fag in his mouth and one in his hand?

Hopefully because it has been photoshopped to avoid offence, because he is really flicking the Vs at Vertigo.

Or perhaps he's offering it to someone ?

  6. I'm a zombie.

    The game is dull anyway.

But I have a gun and a medical kit if anyone wants me to find them and give them the stuff. I mean, I've seen Land of the Dead. I KNOW what kind of zombie I am gonna be. I'll fight other zombies for you if you want.

  7. I forgot to mention this before - I reckon Adam and Saul will stand up to granddad and get killed for it, John and Rosa will work together to knock off Nergal and Marie will kill Rosa with the dagger she was made to kiss this issue.

It'll end either with Maria taking control of Nergal's house or her disappearing after he mother is killed (the spell wears off if John dies - is it the same with Rosa?).

Dunno about Cheryl, though. Fingers crossed for John failing to bring her back to life, but sending her off to Heaven instead.

If Cheryl goes to heaven, I hope she gives John the finger.

  8. Mike's also used Australian aboriginal and Indian religions in Third Worlds.

But yes, the Judeo-Christian one predominates as it always done in Hellblazer and beforehand in Moore's Swamp Thing.

The accusation (since that's how Luis always phrases things) that Lucifer is a copy of Sandman is fatally flawed even on a structural level, since it is a single story threaded together over seventy or so issues where each story moves us onto the end. Yes it is based in the same mythos, but that does not make it a copy. But Sandman was a vessel for other stories and if you extract all those other tales you'll end up with a tale that could be told in half as many issues.

On a story level, Lucifer is about the people around Lucifer, which is comparable with Sandman, but the politics of Hell and Religion were only really touched in all but two arcs of Sandman. Gaiman had a very human supporting cast where Carey is working with fantastic people throughout his cast.

As ever, I feel obliged to point out to Luis that because you don't like something doesn't make it shit. Incidentally, since you are "not on board" Carey's Hellblazer run, what exactly are you criticising? Because it has been nothing like Lucifer until the recent arc, and there Hell's politics play an important part. He's set up a theme of family for his entire run, and seeking to set the Constantines up against the Nergals has allowed him to explore family dynamics in an interesting way.
