  1. would stay away from it too, i think writing good sex scenes in literature are rather hard to pull off. at least from my experience as a reader 90% of authors either write it really cold, like an instruction manual, or go akwardly overboard with weird synonyms for the more prominent body parts and or use very weird verbs.

as a hetero man, i would not stay away from something because it has some man on man action. i mean what could possibly happen? that i got a hard on from it... well then i would have learned something new about me

yes, exactly.i am writing mostly male pov ,so i suspect some things sex wise,i could be getting wrong...rather not let that be a turn off or distraction so that gets side linked. as for not shying away from potential male on male content,i applaud your open-minded view.there are people who will run for the hills...but y'know, Constantine gets down like that so it's gonna have to be there somewhere, even if it's minor

  2. Is John bisexual in this story? (jking)

yes he is bi and it shows with his indiscriminate thoughts on people of either sex.Nothing explicit though...there's another blog for that :)decided I would put sex scenes in a side link so people have the option to skip ,that way if you're gay,you have the option to NOT read about John pounding zatanna or [insert random chick] into the mattress or if you're het you have the option to NOT read about John getting it on in a motorcycle by Nick or [insert random guy]...or vice versa.

    it's only fair.

the focus is his relationship with his daughter ...and solving the case of dead capes back from the grave ,so sex is hardly on his mind

  4. i love gwylims shortfilms. its as close as i will get to playing it anyway, since my laptop is shit.

my laptop is utter shit.i go with consoles for my games.laptop is for school and hanging out in awesome messageboards like this

  5. i don't work here. did this not happen? sounded interesting.

yes for the most part.i started up some of the blogs (in my signature).the way it works is this, the main story line features, heroes coming back from the dead to deal justice by supernatural means, becoming 'spectral shades'.villains and disgraced heroes are coming back as 'nightmare shades'..idealiy,the starting point is rose's journal.hers and john's run side by side, while nick's has a bit more back story and info that only he would know. finally, the main story line runs as 'Spectral',which is currently on a blog redirected from john's journal.I'm doing it where the parts are ordered by links to make it more immersive .

the idea was to make a vertigo style/hellblazer story that successfully crosses into DCU without losing the dark horror element ,u know, making ghosts demons and tights work in tandem (succeeding where dc has failed)you're welcome to check it out if you like/ private message me and let me know your opinion.

It's kinda branching out too,as more Spectrals get introduced, they get their story, likely posted on elseworlds legends blog.

  6. Come on, Heckblazer obviously is a joke, and if the term hadn't already been coined to describe his Constantiftytwo makeover, it'd be a funny joke.

As it is, I'm sure it's a knowing reference to that very term, and I'm expecting the whole issue to be a heavy-handed allegory for the Nu-52 saga. I mean, they're really rubbing it in our faces with the "friend to superheroes everywhere" part.

Even if it's a bit gauche, and the third issue really isn't the best place to do it, I think it bodes pretty well that they're taking the piss out of the rebooted series.

As for John being a Hellblazer: Mike Carey had John use the term as a description for 'someone who fucks with magic' in his final issue, which everyone loved. If we didn't blink then, we shouldn't start now. It's a stupid word, but it always was, even when it was just an ambiguous comic book title. Since it was a last-minute replacement for 'Hellraiser,' I always assumed it was a description of John (despite not being descriptive in the slightest).

    That's where i heard it!

John was monolouging about Hellblazers...implying it to be a thing and that it doesn't necessarily apply to him only.thanks for the memory jog

  7. This is what we get for thinking positive. DC hates their Hellblazer fans who have stuck around.

I'll still give issue #1 a chance, because I don't want to judge the book based on the solicit for issue #3, but if it's not a damn good read on the first issue, I'm dropping this book before I have to actually read issue #3.

The book is titled John Constantine:The Hellblazer, so that was always a bad sign. It signifies that he is, indeed, the Hellblazer, whatever that means.

More like hate all who stood by Vertigo as a whole to where they not only stripped the imprint of our boy and the others to render both it and Berger obsolete to where they planted an inferior editor (who participated in our comic's demise) leading books less than stellar.

The triumvirate of hackneyed and fail have won and we lost....

the battle...but we haven't lost the war!

    I'm still fightin' ,damnit!

  8. I assumed Heckblazer was a joke, but when i went and searched the true solicit, imagine my surprise when there it was.

Goddammit DC, i was just starting to be interested in this book and you go and do something like this. Do this mean that John is going to start going by the moniker "Hellblazer" now too? uggg.

    No

    Just NO

  9. I have started blogs for John Constantine,Rose Constantine,Nick Necro (AU version. This guy is Nicolas Edward Sloan,Not Nicolas Edward Nolan. As I said,I like the idea of Nick but esecution was piss poor). Finally Elseworld Legends is blog for fanfiction/fanart that's DC related. Will be posting links soon.I already mostly did Rose's page.Had to do Rose's first because Rose and John's stuff feed off each other.

The main story line is called 'Spectral',but looking in John and Rose's notes act as summaries and present side info not previously found (Contrast with certain events in 'Spectral' NOT mentioned in their blogs.Case in point you wouldn't know that Nick Necro was using an alias at first unless you read their blogs or Rose's relation to Zatanna). And reading Nick's side will reveal a helluva lot of inside info (because in this AU,Nick is essentially a spy ,an empath and actively divines the future[last one is cannon.he DOES do this] )you wouldn't know otherwise.I'd like to do one for Zatanna also, but I dunno her character well enough to do that. Also,if someone would like to picl up blogs for other related characters (I will have a list of them) then go ahead.

  10. Okay,so I had this idea for a project I am working on,it's a roleplay twitter-novel thing.

    Here's the idea.

I wanted to do a twitter novel based on the Hellblazer-verse called 'Spectral',it's an elseworld's tale. The idea is that after the death of several members of young justice and teen titans and other superheros, the UN had to reign them all in.So now ,the JLA and all related groups are peace keeping officers tied directly to the government who can ONLY take cases related to metahumans.

The exceptions to this rule are the Arrow family and Bat Family.Certain people are being reveiwed and /or considered in the future to do this but not everyone.

Anyway,so the premise is that dead superheroes are coming back in the form of 'phantoms' and fighting crime; only with a supernatural twist; those who commit crimes are punished by way of either a jinx,a curse or just outright demon sigils on them, and others dragged straight to hell.Victims have turned up with protection symbols carved into their flesh or vanish because they have been sent to heaven or the after life.

The main premise is that Rose Constantine (now a teenager) is one of the 'Spectral',people who have died a hero and come back with the ability to 'punish the wicked' (and yes they ARE connected to the Spectre).

I need some folks to help me out and role play some characters

  11. I'm pretty sure New 52 John is gone for good.

Unless we're going to see another Crisis, where the different versions of John meet up again.

The sales weren't there for Constantine to really worry about DC bothering to ever dig that version up again. And, all signs point to the new series as taking place outside of the confines of the "New 52", considering Newcastle is back as part of John's background.

I believe the idea behind the new DC Universe, post-Convergence, is that different books are going to take place on different universes within the DCU multiverse, instead of forcing all characters to conform to one universe.

I'm not reading Convergence, but I think that's the idea behind finding out that the pre-Flashpoint DCU, the pre-Crisis DCU, etc. still exist somewhere out there in the multiverse.

DC is going to allow more creative freedom to creators. So, Batman by Synder will still take place in the "New 52" continuity. But, other titles will take place in different universes, out the "New 52" remit. The new John Constantine book is going to be using Moore's Swamp Thing continuity, I'm pretty sure.

hm... i can work with that

  12. i hated everything about the nu52, but especially the nick necro character, i to this day have no clue why anyone wanted or liked that wanker. johns and zees characters were displayed like shitty pastiches of their former selves. i really did hate this.

i second this. but i think it could work in the hands of a capable writer.still don't think nick necro was a bad idea...just the whole tantrum having ex boyfriend and evil for no reason thing...i mean if they did something like made him a sleeper agent for A.R.G.U.S who's assignment was to test out JLD and get tim hunter to the books of magick (he can divine the future,it wouldn't be far fetched.he could've seen all this shit coming) ,i would cap my hands at this

  13. Yeah...but boots? Why not a nice, comfy pair of loafers?

I think Pants-in-Boots should be Constantine's new superhero nickname, replacing The Hellblazer.

"Hey, look, here comes ol' Pants-in-Boots Constantine." said the Batman.

    lol

but seriiously, don't argue this down...even if he dresses like shite, does it have to be knee boots? god,it could'bve been sneakers! (i prefer loafers or a regular ass pair of ankle boots).

    the boots look wrong .

.but maybe it's a distraction! while i'm busy looking at your boots, you steal my wallet or something.
